Repainting a milepost

Many of L&N's mileposts just needed repainting. They were scrubbed with a wire brush, then painted white. Expert (!) painters then traced the old numbers. There were two styles of numbering, some posts had a "L" (for Louisville, Kentucky), from which the miles are measured from. Posts were repainted to the style the crew found them in.
