Finding NS and CSX in Dalton, Georgia
Take exit 137 US Hwy. 41 "Dalton - Rocky Face" between milepost 335 and 336. Turn onto US 41 south (towards Dalton). After 2.7 miles follow US 41 as it turns right onto Cleveland Highway. This road changes to Glenwood Ave. After 1.5 miles turn right on Hawthorn, there is a Texaco and a Phillips at this intersection. The first railroad crossed is NS. At the stop sign turn left onto Hamilton St. The line just ahead is CSX. One place to park is a dirt lot on the left just before crossing CSX. Here you can watch the home signals for southbound traffic.
To get to the actual crossover, continue south on Hamilton. The first street is King Street (leads to the Dalton Depot restaurant/ex CSX depot). Take the next left, Cuyler Street. The diamond is just ahead at the end of the road.
