Georgia Northeastern operates over L&N's Hook and Eye line between Elizabeth (Marietta) and McCaysville, Georgia. The southern part of the line is the heaviest-traveled. GNRR operates the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad on the 13-mile stretch between Blue Ridge and McCaysville. A 15-mile stretche between Ellijay and Blue Ridge, out of service for 20 years, was re-opened with the help of NARCOA volunteers.
