Mileposts and Stations
Hearing a train's crew announce their location as "McDaniels" or
"Milepost 104" isn't much help if you don't know where that is.
Railroads seem to have a bad habit of naming stations and junctions
without regard for modern names. It's hard enough sometimes for local
rail fans. So here's a list of CSX and NS stations, junctions,
control points, and the corresponding milepost. Bold type indicates a
talking defect detector. CSX's Etowah Subdivision is included because
it is shares a common radio frequency and hearing it's traffic is
common. Norfork Southern's routing swings well away from I-75 so it
will be uncommon to hear NS trains north of Still or south of Sugar
Valley. Defect Detectors shown in RED
