Finding the tunnel in Tunnel Hill, Georgia
From I-75 take exit 138, Ga. Hwy 201, "Tunnel Hill - Varnell" near milepost 340. Turn west towards Tunnel Hill. After 2.2 miles continue straight as 201 turns right. At the dead end turn right onto Main Street, then left onto Oak Street. At the tracks look left to see the tunnel. To get closer turn left just past the tracks onto Clisby-Austin Street. After the one-lane covered bridge look for a pull-off on the left just before the road starts up the hill. There is no road access to the other side of the tunnel.
