Blogs clogging my search

I know all the rhetoric about blogs being the New Journalism of Freedom, but sometimes I just want the facts, Jack. I want a succinct article telling me about something that's happened recently. Maybe even a couple of them from different viewpoints or countries.

What I don't want is for the first couple pages of results of my Google search to be blogs or the comment sections of blogs. These often amount to little more than rants by people with faulty grammar, little sense of history, poorly controlled emotions, or (most likely) all three.

Power to the people (hey, I write a blog)-- but not at the expense of getting some solid news articles thrown into the mix. I know not all news is solid, and that objective-sounding language may have little to do with the facts (Jack). But I am pretty sure that entries written in instant-message English, using lots of swear words, exclamation points, and egotistical references don't either.
