King Johnson at the Zebra

King Johnson, on a nationwide tour in support of its new album, Hot Fish Laundry Mat, stops in Bozeman this weekend.

On stage in the Zebra Cocktail Lounge Saturday, March 8, King Johnson has been described as ""innovative and intoxicating ... one of the liveliest and most exciting good-time roots bands around."

The Band's six members include guitarist/vocalist Oliver Wood, bassist/vocalist Chris Long, drummer Greg Baba, percussionist Chris Uhler and the two-man horn assault of Marcus James and Adam Mewherter.

King Johnson has been exciting audiences worldwide with their intoxicating blend of bayou-based rhythm and blues, funk-infused jazz, melodic roots rock and soul-shuffling boogie. Since forming in 1995, King Johnson has complemented the strength of their three independent releases, which continue to receive critical acclaim and radio airplay both in the U.S. and abroad, with intense, groove-ridden live shows that feature an innovative mix of guitar, bass, horns, and percussion.
