Vanagar kills guideA project's kills guide will give you hints on how to defeat tough monsters a little easier or which monsters are best suited for your level. Big kills
STATS: Level: ? - Hp: 1000 - Wc: ? - Ac: ? - $: ? - Align: ? - Max Damage: ?
It is not able to follow you into a ship that is launched, but it can enter one that is landed. Does about 80hp damage (a player died twice: once in the room with auto for hard death, once after chasing him all the way to the bar, but was soft death <you can 'jump' to avoid the blade>). Reward is a Left arm of the Automadon. Automadon has a torpedo special, which is slightly less severe than the plasma blade special. You can avoid both of them by 'jump'ing the plasma blade, and 'duck'ing the torpedo. The duck/jumping of the tracer missle and the plasma blade are dexterity dependent. They're both soft kills, the reason the guy had a hard death in the room with Auto, was because Auto probably hit him when he was low on hp. They both do about the same damage, the tracer generally has a higher base damage of 80 + some odd more, usually adding up to 100+. But yeah, the blade and tracer are not dodgeable if you -leave- the room. You have to jump/duck while you are in the room with auto, then you can run. Also note that Automadon does less damage as he is damaged (makes sense).
Agent 1313: this one is tricky as in you cant go to him - he comes to you at his choice. What you have to do is to kill Kuuv (the
Jawa) in South Narwald on Vanagar (city area near bays). This will put you on a wanted list which Agent uses to decide his "kills". To get the
adornment you must kill the agent while being under 30-40
hit points yourselves. The best place to when he comes for you is at the sobers on Vanagar with a few drinks. Sobers from bays:
d, w, w, w, w, s, pull hook. So when Agent is at 20-30 hit points, drop your
weapon. Wait until you are under 40 hit points, and gamma (for example) him to death.
Make sure you are not in wimpy mode and be aware that he has a special which
can kill you. An additional tactic for getting the adornment: use something that can drain your own hp, such as a dire Padamir suit, or overdose heart of ice. When agent is around 20hp, go nuts losing yours. Vurgur the Mutated burwur: fights just like Automadon, but about half
the hit points and doesn't hit quite as hard. Burwur does NOT have a plasma
blade, but all the other special attacks of Automadon are present - except for
the torpedo -, but do less
damage. Just give him some neurotoxin to get him to change to mutant form, but if you give him the right one, it'll kill him.
Grundell: d, w, w, n, n, path, e, cave, s, se, ne, u, search
eggs. Specials can be nullified by wearing warm armour, most preferably the body glove
with unit (found on Avenger). Only one
special is nullified using cold protection. Grundell will sometimes scream,
dislodging some stalactites, which fall and hurt you. You have time to leave the
room to avoid them. Killing Grundell gives you a Grundell
wing. Hound Keeper: first of all you need an K4 explosive rod usually found
in one of Vanagar's shops. Then from bays: d, w, w, n, n, n, drop rod, set timer, wait for
explosion, hole and you are at the portal to the Hound Keepers dimension.
Directions from platform: 4w, 2n or 2w, 2n, 2w or 2w, 1n, 2w, 1n. Once HK is dead, a hole opens in that room which will take you back outside of the lair. You do not have to go back to the portal. Hounds will not follow you back out of the portal if you still choose to take that route. Lightning Azore heals with unbelievable speed in light. Somehow make the room go dark, usually done with a black saber or with a darkflash staff found on Otto 1 x down from the scientist in the "nugget" mini. The lightning special can be nullified with any heat protecting armour, such as a caldean set, rba (desert mode), and many others including the roghan cloak. Smoke grenades are also a viable alternative for making the room become dark.STATS: Level: ? - Hp: ? - Wc: ? - Ac: ? - $: ? - Align: ? - Max Damage: ? Directions from bay:
To Azore: d, w, w, n, n, path, e, cave, s, se, se, e, s, d, nw, ne, waterfall. So: wear cloak, and when you enter the lair of Azore type 'darkflash' this will stop the unbelievable healing of Azore. Killing Lightning Azore gets you an adornment. The scroll will crumble to dust after a short while; you must get the key while the scroll is still intact. Once you have the key, you don't have unlimited time either. It will also vanish. Sluicer: there are rumors that Sluicer heals in the darkness. Giving him a Grundell
egg (which emits light) may keep him from healing too much. Vylk, the Ice Uul is found from bays: s, w, w, n, n,
path, e, enter cave, s, se, se, e, ne, ne, n, n, d, d, d, d, n, e, e, e, enter
well, s, se, e, e, move slab. Be sure to wear some cold protection and you also
have to fight some ice tentacles on the way. Vylk's ice specials can be nullified by wearing warm armour, most preferably the body glove
with unit (found on Avenger). Also be aware
that the exit from Vylk's chamber is delayed a few seconds, if you're allowed to
leave at all. Leaving his room requires approx 200 fp or more. The less you have, the less chance you have of leaving. Uul clan-chief: d, w, w, n, n, path, e, enter
cave, s, se ,se ,e ,s ,4d, n, se, e, e, e, enter hut. Chief has a little over
800hp, but is basically just a big fight. He has a random combo of equip:
tasses, sollerets, pauldrons, gauntlets, sword of sacred slug.
