Thursday the 19th - Eyedrum Gallery - Kodac will emcee and perform at this Concert for the School of the America's Watch. Other performers will include Chris Chandler, Colleen Kautau and Jaime Yaman, Theresa Davis, Alice Lovelace and more. 7pm.

Sunday the 22nd - Java Monkey Speaks - featuring Paulie Lipman. 8pm

Saturday the 17th - Java Monkey - Kodac will share the stage with Sydney Rhame. 8 pm

Sunday the 18th - Java Monkey Speaks - featuring Malik and Kim, our first husband and wife feature. 8pm

Tuesday the 20th - Leonard Cohen at the Fox in Atlanta and I will be there.

Friday the 23rd - Poetry at Tech - featuring David Baker and Khadijah Queen. 7 pm. (Kodac will be running sound)

Friday the 23rd - Voices Carry - at the Sycamore Place Gallery in Decatur featuring Cecilia Woloch, Tania Rochelle, Karen Head, Theresa Davis, Collin Kelley, and Kodac Harrison will close out the show. 8 pm

Saturday the 24th - Feast - Phillip Raines will join me for a night of music starting at 8 pm. We will be performing out back under the tent at this fine Decatur Restaraunt.

September 2009

Saturday & Sunday the 5th and 6th - The Decatur Book Festival - We will have poets reading every 15 minutes at Java Monkey starting at 10 am on Saturday and 12 noon on Sunday until 6 pm each day. Go to www.decaturbookfestival.com for the schedule.

On Saturday night we will hold the invitation slam starting at 8 pm. On Sunday night Java Monkey Speaks will feature Patricia Smith. 8 pm.

Sunday the 12th - Java Monkey Speaks - featuring Jon Goode. 8pm.

Saturday the 18th - The Empty Glass - in Charleston, WV. Kodac will perform.

Sunday the 19th - Java Monkey Speaks - Theresa Davis will fill-in for Kodac. 8 pm.

Friday the 24th - Decatur Rotary Club - Kodac will speak to this group at their luncheon.

Saturday the 25th - The Apache Cafe' - Kodac will host at slam between the Java Monkey, Art Amok, and Charlotte slam teams. 8 pm.

Sunday the 26th - Java Monkey Speaks - featuring the Java Monkey/Poetry Atlanta slam team. 8 pm.

Wednesday the 29th - Eddie's Attic - A spoken word musical extravaganza. Kodac will be joined by vocalists Kristin Markiton. Opening the show that night will be Gypsee Yo and the Barnstormers. ($10 cover) The show starts at 8 pm.

June 2009

Sunday the 7th - Java Monkey Speaks - featuring Georgia Me. 8 pm

Sunday the 14th - Java Monkey Speaks - featuring Seaborn Jones. 8 pm

Thursday the 18th - Ambassador Day @ Hard Rock Cafe' - Kodac and others will perform for kids. 11 am.

Thursday the 18th - Trouble and Hope - The DVD will be released by Poetry Atlanta at the Decatur Library. The DVD is an anthology of some of Atlanta and the regions most dynamic poets and spoken word artists in performance and conversation. The DVD is dedicated to the memory of Shannon Leigh. We will screen the DVD starting at 7:15 pm.

Saturday the 20th, Kodac will perform at a private party in Cabbagetown.

Sunday the 21st - Java Monkey Speaks - will celebrate it's 8th anniversary by asking all 28 poets featured on the DVD to come perform. We will also have our open mic, for it is the audience and the participants who have made this event the success that it is. The event has been held over 414 times. 8pm.

Saturday the 27th - Feast - Kodac and Phillip Raines will perform music and this Decatur restaurant starting at 8 pm.

Sunday the 28th - Java Monkey Speaks - featuring Sylvia Cross. 8 pm

 

April 2009

Friday the 10th - Eddie's Attic - Kodac will release a CD of songs and spoken word from Reach for the Moon. Kodac will be joined by Nick Longo on sax, Kristin Markiton on vocals, and Sean O'Rourke on percussion. 9 pm. For tickets go to www.eddiesattic.com

Saturday the 18th - Sycamore Place Gallary - Kodac will have his first art show, "Random Intent". 7- 10pm

Sunday the 15th - Poetry Out Loud - Kodac will be one of the judges for the state finals of the contest. 2 - 4 pm

Tuesday the 17th - Smith's Olde Bar - in the Atlanta Room. Chris Chandler and Kodac will co-headline this spoken word/musical show. 8 pm.

Tuesday the 20th -St. Simons, Ga. - Kodac will perform at an inauguration party sponsored by the local Democratic party.

Friday the 17th - Trackside Tavern - in Decatur. We will celebrate three years of performing every 3rd Friday. On this night I will be joined by Nick Longo, Count M'Butu, and Jody Worrell. Later on I will bring up the "Trackside Horns" featuring Nick, Phillip Raines and Mico Bowles. 9:30 pm

August 2008

On Saturday the 30th and Sunday the 31st in the afternoon during the Decatur Book Festival, Poetry Atlanta will host the local stage at Java Monkey from around 11 am until 6 pm each day.

Saturday the 30th - Invitational Slam - at Java Monkey. 8pm.

Sunday the 31st - Java Monkey Speaks - featuring Pulitzer Prize winner, Natasha Trethewey. 8 pm.

July 2008

Thursday the 31st - Eddie's Attic - This will be a benefit for Desiree' Cross and her two young boys. Desiree has leukemia (with no insurance) and is being treated at Grady. There will be a host of artists performing including Emily Saliers of the Indigo Girls. There will be an early kids show (6:30 pm) as well as a later adult show. (8 pm) $20 suggested donation.

June 2008

Sunday the 8th - Java Monkey Speaks - featuring Shannon Leigh 8pm.

Sunday the 22nd - Java Monkey Speaks - featuring the celebration of the events 7th anniversary of weekly poetry reading, with the release of Java Monkey Speaks poetry anthology volume 3. This anthology will feature poets who were featured during the 5th and 6th years of the reading's existence. We will feature as many of the poets from the book, who are able to attend. 8pm

The 20th thru the 23rd - 7 Stages - in Little 5 Points will present Reach for the Moon by Kodac Harrison. Kodac will be joined on stage by Nick Longo, Kristin Markiton, Erin Weller and Blake Dalton. The production will feature the words and music of Kodac and will be directed by Del Hamilton. Thursday, Friday and Saturdays performance will start at 8 pm and Sundays at 5 pm. Friday the 14th - Eddie's Attic - Kodac will celebrate the release of "Dreams and Nightmares" at 9:30 pm.  Kristin Markiton will open and join Kodac during his set. Also joining Kodac will be Nick Longo, Tom Wolf, Jody Worrell, Sean O'Rourke and more.

June 2007

Saturday the 2nd - The 43rd Annual Georgia Author of the Year Awards - Kodac and co-editor Collin Kelley were nominated in the anthology category for the 2nd Java Monkey Speaks Anthology and won awards for "Outstanding Achievement in support of Poetry."

November 2006

Friday the 17th - Poetry at Tech will hold a spoken word show at the Defoor Centre featuring Kodac, Patricia Smith, Reggie Gibson, Ayodele Heath, Bob Holman, ML Liebler and more. 7 pm

In October 2009, the 2nd Sunday Slam will start again at Java Monkey Speaks.
