Hello. My name is Chris Kozloski. I am 26 years old and reside in Smyrna Georgia a suburb of Atlanta, where I have lived since September of 1996. I have a Bachelors Degree in Geology (Hydrology Emphasis)from Western Kentucky University and am only a thesis away from achieving my Masters degree in Geography. I also have a Minor in Art, although I am predominantly a self taught illustrator. My other academic interests include History, Biology, and current events.
What are my interests? Well, as you can probably guess, I am an internet junkie and have been for the last 3 years. I am a "Mac-Person", having used Macs since 1984. I currently own a Powerbook 145, with a whopping 4 meg of RAM and 40 meg of hd space. Needless to say, a computer upgrade and a scanner, as you will probably deduce if you read the lamentations in my art pages, is extremely high in my list of priorities, but that is an event for the future, when I am free of debt.
Geology is also an interest of mine (If the college degrees havn't already tipped you off). I specialize in Karst Hydrology, ground water drainage through caves, and am currently searching for a job in the environmental field. I became interested in Geology through another passion of mine. Caving. I became interested in caving around 1987 when I first saw "Realms of Darkness" a British show on caving that used to run on The Discovery Channel. Around a year after watching this show, I hooked up with the Potomic Speleological Society, a caving group based in Arlington Virginia. Soon I was exploring the caves of Western Virginia and West Virginia, and soon after, Kentucky and Tennessee after I started going to WKU. What caves have I explored? many but Ones I remember the most are, In Virginia: Crossroads cave, West Virginia: Hamilton, Trout, and New Trout, Kentucky:Flint-Mammoth System (Mammoth, Salt, Crystal and Great Onyx) The Lost River system, (Lost River, Big Bertha, State Trooper) Hoy Cave, and several dozen scattered in the sinkhole plain between Bowling Green and Mammoth cave. Unfortunately, over the last few years, graduate school and a growing acrophobia (reawakened by a near fall in a chimney climb) have slowed me down greatly. Hopefully I'll be able to rejoin my forgotten hobby as soon as I locate the local grotto in Atlanta.
Music. I listen to about everything. I loathe Rap and Pop 40 Dance Music, but I am a fan of Metal, Classic Jazz and Blues. Classical Music is my standard fare of music though, Mozart, Wagner and Rossini being my favorite. I also listen to New Age music, Celtic, and Synthesiser. Vangellis, David Arkenstone, and Altan represent samples of the above 3 styles of music.
I am also a self taught artist, an illustrator to be more precise. I wont go into much detail here as I have a whole page devoted to my art. In summary though, I am a disillusioned realist, disgusted with the condescending snobbery of the mainstream "Avante guard" abstractionists. Ahem. Excuse me. That's a touchy subject of mine . BUT, snobbish teachers aside, I am a fairly competent artist, practicing photo-realism, and advancing my aspirations to become an animator. (Once again. I need a Dratted scanner!) =)
