History:
The Chattahoochee River is not as wild as the Colorado, nor as famous as the Mississippi, but for Atlanta residents, it is the source of water, recreation, and traffic jams. The river literally runs through the heart of the city. A favorite summer pastime is to float down the Chattahoochee on a raft or innertube. This activity is known locally as "shooting the Hooch".
We believe that breed clubs should be fun! Therefore, to have a logo that depicts a springer having fun by "shooting the Hooch" is as natural to us as grits and redeye gravy. Our club logo was designed by the very talented Elaine Dillard.
Objectives:
- to encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred English Springer Spaniels and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection;
- to urge members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which English Springer Spaniels shall be judged;
- to do all in its power to protect and advance the interests of the breed and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog shows and performance events;
- to conduct sanctioned and licensed dog shows and performance events under the rules of The American Kennel
Club.
