Dear Springer Rescue People,

FEMALE SPRINGER SPANIEL FOR RESCUE SQUAD URGENT WANTED !

this is our second try from The Kingdom of Nepal to you ! Himalaya Rescue Dog Squad Nepal (HRDSN) rescues people with the help of German Shepherds. Yesterday there was the 10th anniversary of HRDSN. HRDSN finds victims of avalanches and landslides. HRDSN works to trace missing People in the mountains .Yet it has proved to us that German Shepherds are lousy performers in the dense jungles of the foothills of the high mountain. 35 % of the missing people are lost in the jungle. Half of the lost persons are children !!! Farmers send their children into nearby forests to grass the cattle. German Shepherds are afraid of leopards and other wild cats..wolves,wild buffalo etc.

IT HAS PROVED TO US THAT SPRINGERS ARE NOT AFFRAID !

They are faster than any other jungle game and like to play and harass wild beasts. Even we have a case that a leopard quitted the scene when a springer spaniel started challenging him. Yak and Buffalo often block the narrow footpaths in the rocks for our approaching searchparties. Yak and buffalo are very aggressive toward shepherds..mistaken them for wolves. Springers do not attack the yak...they challenge and want to play with them. That makes them nervous and they quit the footpath. We found out all of this after a pensioner Gurkha British army officer gave his Springer Jasper to us. Jasper did even dive into fast moving creeks and aborted good fallen into. This guys can dive !!!!

That is about 8 Years ago. Jasper died of old age. We got ourselves after long correspondence a female named Suzy then was trained together with 12 German Shepherds for search and rescue. She understood faster than the Shepherds what she had to do. She found seven lost people. Two American Trekkers and 5 little girls lost in a gorge ! After that Suzy was bitten by a poisoness snake and died.Unfortunatly it was in the same week when from the Netherlands from a Springer Club as a donation her future husband Sammy arrived because we want to breed them here for rescue purpose of jungle search. The German shepherds are fine in Snow and ice or in the rubble of a landslide, collapsed house etc.but Springers are the king of the jungle.

Sammy is lonely....no female partner....since 3 and half years now. All our effort to to get a female donated has failed. HRDSN has some friends in the USA. If you could donate this female springer to HRDSN for adoption...we are sure that our friends in America could raise funds to put her on transport to Nepal /Kathmandu. Into an adventurous live into a real challenge for an active dog like Springers are. We do care her as a princess...since springers love children so much...Sammy is sleeping at our school for children of rescue workers and is the school pet. He joins the German shepherds every day for a swim in the river and two times per week for training. We are sure that Sammy will treat his new female partner with love and affection. Please answer if you consider to help us...then we work out together a plan how to get her across to the Kingdom of Nepal.

Yours sincerely
