Ian, you have captured the essence of why digitally-enhanced receiving techniques do not appeal to most WS ops. The rabid digi-phreaks, however, cannot understand this objection. They are not amateur radio operators; instead, they are computer buffs looking to expand into another realm. I applaud their efforts, but do not accept that they have ANY right to disrupt existing communications for their experiments. SS should be limited to (unused) microwave frequencies, period.
