Brouwer's Mill: Navigation Tips

If you are looking for a particular individual, try looking at the Surname Index first. The Surname Index is linked to three indexes: a Brouwer/Brower/Brewer Index for people with those surnames, an Index for Surnames from A to M (excluding Brouwer/Brower/Brewer) and an Index for Surnames from N to Z. The Brouwer/Brower/Brewer Index is listed alphabetically by first name and the A to M and N to Z Indexes are listed alphabetically by surname (or patrynomic if there is no surname). People without a known surname or patrynomic would be listed first, alphabetically by first name. Women are listed under their birth surname or patrynomic.

There is a separate, unique web page for each individual for whom there is genealogical data. Hypertext links are used on each person's page to connect that individual with the pages for her or his parents, spouse(s), and children. If the name of a parent, spouse or child is listed as plain text (instead of a hypertext link), then there should be no further information available on this site for that individual (unless, of course, I made a mistake. There are clickable icons on the bottom of each page to take you back to the home page or to an index. At the top of a page there may be a graphic indicating the number of generations from a traced ancestral couple. For example this graphic would appear on the pages of Adam Brouwer Berchoven and Magdalena Jacobs Verdon:

Their children's pages would have this graphic:

Their grandchildren's pages would use this graphic:

And so on, down the line. It makes it relatively easy to spot common ancestors.

Sources for information should be clearly marked in square brackets [ ] on each page. If there is a hypertext link, it will open a separate window showing the Sources page, for detailed information on that source.
