From Fontana Lake it is possible to travel up the Nantahala River to the base of a respectable section of rapids at Wesser, NC.

A dam on the Dog River with a spillway slope mild enough to allow access.

The Suwannee River near Bell, FL offers unique opportunities for hovercrafting during the winter months.

Although in even tighter quarters, the Suwannee is potentially navigable as far upstream as the sill to the Okefenokee Swamp in SE Georgia.

With lake level 7' above normal Lake Allatoona provides some interesting cruising opportunities during May 2003.

Flying over this dam was possible in May 2003. Hardly an option in December with the lake level 24' lower.

Some exciting whitewater near the Atlanta Water Works intake structure. Note that this standing posture often seen in new hovercrafters is not advised. In rapids such as these, one would generally want to keep their CG low with knees gripping the tunnel.

The Tuckaseegee River offers great mountain scenery and hovercraft cruising between Dillsboro, North Carolina and Fontana Lake.
