Rules and Regulations:

In order to ensure that every student is provided with the opportunity to learn, certain rules and regulations are required. If you have any questions about any of the following rules, I will be more than happy to discuss my rationale any time. Remember, these regulations serve as guidelines to ensure consistency in my classroom.

1) If you are tardy to my class, you will be assigned my detention. You have two days to serve the detention. If you do not serve the detention, I will refer you to your grade level administrator.

2) All students are required to come to class prepared to learn. This 'preparedness' will require the student to bring a notebook and a writing instrument. A failure to bring a notebook will result in one detention.I will not lend out writing instruments.

3) Notebooks: Although I cannot dictate the type of notebook that you shall use, I prefer that you use a three ring binding notebook. This allows you to add papers to your notebook that I feel are important. A three hole punch will be made available to you during class time.

4) There will be no food (this includes gum) or drinks allowed in myclass unless otherwise specified.

5) In order to keep unnecessary noise to a minimum, we will be respectful of each other. Rudeness will not be tolerated in my classroom. If you have a question or comment, you will raise your hand and wait until your request is recognized. No child will be chastised or berated by anyone in my class.

6) Any student that is absent from my class is responsible for clearing that absence before any make-up work is given. If a student is caught skipping my class, that student will be referred and no make-up work will be possible.

7) Detention: Any student that is given detention will spend lunch in my room. Detention is a punishment for inappropriate behavior and willbe treated as such. Students given a detention will clean up my room and discuss the appropriate behavior that should have occurred. Students will have two days to serve her/his detention.

8) 'Horsing around' and other inappropriate physical activity will not be tolerated. You will be referred to your grade level administrator.

9) Grades will be posted weekly. Any time that you have a question about your grades, see me in a civil manner.

10) The 'Student Honor Code' is in effect at ALL times for ALL assignments. If you caught breaking the honor code, you and other involved parties will receive a zero for that assignment.

The first pages in your notebook will be these rules and regulations.
