3/31/96 I worked at a restaurant that had parking meters. They would give a half hour free parking if you turned the knob on them. Once I was walking back from depositing my paycheck at the bank across the street and guess what I found? A policeman writing tickets for the cars at expired meters. So I started turning the knobs of the expired meters so he couldn't write tickets for them. The bad news is that he caught me doing it. But he let me get away. I guess that was another
random act of kindness from the cop too.

3/29/96 The wind was blowing 50 m.p.h. when I attempted to get out of my car in the parking lot where I work. The next thing I knew, my purse fell to the ground and the contents began to blow. With the help of a couple of passers-by, I was able to rescue most of the contents except for a large personal check I was carrying. A couple of days later, a kind gentleman returned it.

3/28/96 I volunteer for the Salvation Army and became friends with a very needy family. The mother and father did a lot of drugs, and they and their four children (ages 8,7,6,and 5!) lived in a cramped apartment. The children became like brothers and sisters for me. I have two young brothers at home, but being at school four hours away never permits me to see them. At any rate, I would take the boys fishing with me and my boyfriend, and took the one little girl to a dance competition when I learned she loved to dance. For Easter, I brought them an enormous lily to put in their apartment. Whenever the parents had somewhere to go, I would offer to babysit their children for no charge. I think the most rewarding thing, though, was when their mother told me how much of a blessing they thought I was to their family, and invited me to dinner on both Mother's and Father's Day because they thought of me as a part of their family.

3/27/96 I was having a really rough semster, and this guy I just met, "Dave", knew it. Although I hardly knew David, he'd sing to me over the phone and just be there to listen to me cry. I considered his actions an act of kindness, because he was willing to make a fool out of himself for a stranger.

3/25/96 I live on a golf course and every time I see a golfer replace a divot that someone else made I consider it a random act of kindness.

3/20/96 Last year I had one of the worst years of my life. Everything was going wrong and I couldn't get control of it. Right in the middle of all this a friend sent me a little gift. She bought a small metal box with flowers on the lid and filled it with the lint from the dryer lint trap. She enclosed a little card explaining that this was a "warm fuzzy". I still have it.

3/16/96 One VERY COLD "Saskatchewan" Febrauary day (-55 C), as my friends and I were driving home from the store, we hit a patch of ice on the road and went into the ditch. Luckily, a man and his wife were willing to stop and actually get out of their car to help shovel us out. It didn't take long, but I appreciated it so much!! When it's that cold,... skin freezes in less than a minute!!

3/10/96 Last summer I was driving over the tappan zee bridge in new york. It was about 100 degrees and very humid. I bought a cold drink for the toll booth attendant and gave it to him as I paid my toll.

3/9/96 It was nearly 20 years ago that I was discharged from the military. Since I didn't have a phone, I used a pay phone to called home. While I was chucking about 3 pounds of quarters into the machine, I told the operator of my good fortune. At the end of the call, all my money came back.

3/4/96 Feb.26 is my birthday and every year I have a party. This past season in soccer I meet a girl who had never had a birthday party so this year instead of having a party for myself, I gave her a birthday party. She was thrilled.

3/2/96 One day last summer, my husband, two kids, and two neices went out to dinner. After dinner, we got ready to pay. When we went up to the cash register, the lady told us that a man had already taken care of the bill. We said, "Us, are you sure?" The guy was someone who knew us, but said we probably wouldn't remember him. I was totally shocked, humbled, and thankful all at the same time.

3/1/96 I am a Teacher. The cafeteria lady has always been very nice to me, so I bought her a thank-you card one day to thank her for her kindness. She was very pleased.
