5/27/96 One early morning I went out to my car and I found lodged in the door handle on the passenger side my Visa credit card and my Bank cash card. I have never forgotten the honesty of the person(s) who did
this, this Random Act of Kindness really made an impression on me.

5/15/96 The other day I was tagging my lamb and a boy my age was having trouble getting his lamb into his car, so instead of just staring at him, I jumped out of the car and asked, "Can I help you?"

5/12/96 I stood up for somebody who was always being made fun of. It cost me 1 or 2 of my friends but I didn`t care because I gained more friends.

5/9/96 In school I belong to a committee called the builders club. In this club we do communtiy service. We go to St. Johns (a nusing home) every second Tuesday in every month. You don't realize how lonely the people there are until you sit down at talk to them for awhile. You also get to know some intersting things about their life. You leave knowing you helped someone's day become a little happier!!! It's a great feeling.

5/2/96 A week after the bombing of the Federal building in Oklahoma City, our building began receiving bomb threats. Being a parent who's child attends daycare in our building it was a very emotional day for me.
Our building was evacuated and since my exit is on the opposite end of
the building, I had to walk around to find my child. I was perfectly fine until I saw that he was all right, then I broke down. One of the teachers allowed me to sob on her shoulder until I could get myself under control. I spent the rest of that afternoon helping to entertain the children until we were allowed back into the building.
These bomb threats continued for three weeks. It was a very stressful
time for us. Yet there were people in my building that took the time to ask me how I was doing and if there was anything they could do to help the daycare with their evactuation. Several people that work in an office several floors above the Center set up a system to meet the day care staff at the stairs and assist them in their evacuation. Some even stayed with the children to help entertain them until their parents picked them up or they were allowed back into the building. I thank these caring people with all my heart.
I have always appreciated my son's care givers, but this was beyond
the call of duty. To not only care for the children daily, but now they are just as much a target as those of us that are Federal Employees. For lack of a better idea, I sent the daycare flowers with a note showing my appreciation. I sent more flowers to them on the anniversary of the bombing, just to remind them that I do appreciate what they do.
