10/23/96 I know that this seems odd but I am an odd person. I work five days a week but on my days off I take two eldery people to town to shop for food, pay bills and other things like that. They have families that live right next door to them but will not take them to the store. This eldery couple are the aunt and uncle to an old boyfriend of mine. This old boyfriend of mine and I split up over a year ago but I will never split up with the aunt and uncle.

10/19/96 I have a friend who whenever he goes over the Bay Bridge into San Francisco pays the toll for the person behind him. I've looked back at the car behind us and seen the look of confusion, then the big grin.I know this act has put some sunshine in that persons day. Funny thing about these random acts of kindness: They are contagious!!!!

10/18/96 Hi, I think that this book, and also More Random Acts of kindness are both wonderful. They inspired me to stop at the florist after school and buy flowers for my parents just because I know they will be pleasantly surprised. And, it makes me feel good to know that they will be happy. :)

10/14/96 I came across a prisoner who was on work relief. He was short of money. I gave him $10.00 for transportation money to and from work for the week. He was very greatful and talked with me for more than an hour regarding his experience in jail.

10/12/96 We had a friend that was very stressed. She was having problems laughing at herself. So on a walk to a lake on campus, we joined her in jumping in the lake fully clothed. This gave us all a chance to laugh and forget the daily stresses of our lives.

10/10/96 I always feel badly for people who leave their car lights on during the day; perhaps because I do it myself. When I see someone's lights left on I always try to turn them off. Unfortunately nowadays people
find it prudent to keep their cars locked when they're not in them. Today at my dentist's office I saw a car with its lights on. The door was unlocked and I turned the lights off. It felt great!
