12/31/95 One snowy evening my friend and I went with a group of people from our school to go Christmas caroling. We got a list of addresses from the salvation army. We baked cookies and took them to the people who needed them most. It was a great feeling to righten up someones evening.

12/28/95 I work in a SuperK-Mart store. As you know this time of year is the busiest shopping time. Many people are in bad moods and most of the time, so are my fellow employees. I've made it my goal to try to make a lot of people smile during these holidays. It's worked..it's not easy sometimes but believe me, you can cheer a lot of people up just by saying "hi, how are you?", and smiling. It really makes them feel like you care.

12/27/95 I had seen a car with their lights on. Looking around I could see the owner of the vehicle no where in sight. My friend on the otherhand noticing the window was rolled down, reached in and turned the vehicles lights off thus saving the owners battery!

12/24/95 One of my friends told me whenever she goes through a toll booth she always go through the change line even if she has correct change. She does this so she can wish the tendant a good day. After hearing this I now do the same thing. Every time I have done it the person smiles like they can't believe I did it. I think it makes them feel less isolated.

12/20/95 I was working as a waitress in a restaurant one day and I had gotten a total of two customers when a nice young man comes in to order lunch. He noticed I had not had many tips this particular day. I explained that it was my birthday and I was covering for some one who was sick. He preceeded to entertain me throughout his meal and really brightened my day.

12/20/95 My friends and I were in a strange city trying to visit an old friend from school. We had absolutely no idea where to go. When we stopped to ask directions at a gas stationd the man getting gas next to us voluteered to have us follow him to our destination. He knew exactly where it was. We followed the man for about 5 or 10 minutes until we reached our friend's street. He turned completely around in the middle of rushour to go back to the gas station where we had met him. Our destination was in the opposite direction from where he needed to go.

1. Pay the toll of the person behind you in the toll booth line.
2. Cook a dinner for your neighbor.
3. Take your neighbor's paper from the driveway to the door.
4. Buy your grandparents a gift just to let them know you are thinking of them.
5. Fold the persons laundry in the dryer before you, instead of dumping it in a pile.
6. Bring a potted plant to a dinner party as a thankyou.
