2/29/96 Last week, on St. Valentines day, my boyfriend of 3 and a half months broke up with me. Needless to say, I was very upset. I really liked him (and still do). I would like to say thank you to all my friends who were so wonderful to me, and have been putting up with me since. They had no need to be so sincere, but it helped oh so much! I also thank the people who I don't really know, who showed that they cared also. It is really a beautiful feeling that I get when I think about how much they cared, and how much it means to me.

I have a small message for anyone who might be feeling a little down. Just take a look around you, contrary to what you believe, the world IS full of great, caing people. If you send kindness and love out, it will come back to you.
Thank you all so much. I don't think that the acts of your kindness can ever be completely repaid. It really DID help me. MUCH!!!

2/27/96 I was playing Arcade games, where you get tickets and can go gets some prizes. I had Sixty tickets. However, instead of getting something for me. I gave my tickets to a little girl. I believe she enjoyed those tickets, more than I ever would have.

2/25/96 In 1978 I lost my wallet which contained a picture of just about everyone I ever met, living or dead. Needless to say, I was deeply upset. Nothing anyone could say or give was making me feel better about it. Close to 2 months later I was hanging out with my friends, when a girl that I had never seen before or since came up and asked if I was Veronica. Initially I was very reluctant to admit I was. For all I knew she could have had a summons or something worse related to my then Wild Lifestyle. But seeing as she was as young as I, I said that I was. She then handed me a handful of photos that were in my wallet. I WAS ELATED!! After regaining my composure, I tried to offer her money or lunch or something. She absolutely refused to give so much as her name. This was not only very mysterious but inspiring. In 1990 my husband and I were cleaning out a storage unit and dumping the unwanted items in the huge trash bin found at most mini storages complexes. My husband called my attention to several houshold items dumped in the trash that appeared to be perfectly fine. So we both jumped into the bin and poked around the stuff. It was similar to the things we were tossing out but the thing that caught my eye was a photo album buried beneath a dozen different tupperware conainers. In the photo album were pictures of a young girl growing up from ages 4 to young adulthood. It was touching to reveiw. We could tell she had an older brother and their family had a pool in the backyard. There was also awards and certificates. She had a pony and it won third place at the fair one year. She helped assist at a local special olympics event and recieved a certificate of appreciation. It went on and on. This was not something that is carelessly tossed away. So we took it home and tried to find her in the phone directory. I finally contacted her father. It seems that the girl had unfortunately married a sick and abusive man that literally drove her into hiding. Thus no phone listing. Well, it was picked up that afternoon by a man that I could recognize as her brother. He thanked me profusely and gave me a rose. I am so glad that my husband and I went dumpster diving that day.

2/22/96 I like to feed people, and I like to cook. I consider cooking a social activity. I just gave a friend of my four pieces of my fabulous bananna bread.

2/22/96 Kindness catches. If you do two random act of kindess, you have inspired two people do the same. This is a great gift you can give to someone that really gives back.

2/17/96 Well, I really do not know what to say except that in life, a person meets a plethora (thank you, Holly!) of people, but only a few become your best buds. Maybe I'm wrong, but from my experience, I find this statement to be very true. What do YOU think?

2/7/96 I had been fighting with my family a few years back because of unknown reasons. We are what you would concider disfunctional. So to get away from them, I went to a friends house. There my friend Cam and his mom were talking, and she was abought to leave to get some groceries. She gave him a hug, and on her way out the door said "You look like you need a mom hug" and gave me one not knowing there was a problem. I only wish she knew how much that one hug meant!!!!!! So do yourself a favor and give someone a hug. It can make the day of someone else.

2/4/96 Well, I also experienced it once, last year! I was on my way back from school, when I say a boy crying his heart out at the bus stop. After a while I felt sorry for him, so I approached him and asked him why he was crying. To my surprise, he was crying because he had dropped his bus fare into the drain and thus, he could not get home! So, to make this sad boy happy, I gave him some money so he could go home. He was so thankful that he thanked until his bus came.

2/1/96 One time when I was at a Dead concert with a couple of my friends, a dude came around vending some of those famous grilled cheese sandwiches. My friend was hungry but had no money. The guy gave my friend a free sandwich, which was very cool of him. It is kind of cool that something that has been in practice among Deadheads (i.e. random acts of kindness) has made its way into the mainstream.
