I have been doing sound for many years now. It all started in 1987 with the White Dot on Piedmont Rd (downtown Atlanta). I was there for a little over a year and did sound for many now famous groups, such as: Indigo Girls, Mr. Crowe's Garden (now The Black Crows), Uncle Green (now Three Pound Trill), Michelle Malone, Lova Love and Flat Duo Jets. From there I hooked up with Uncle Green for awhile, thanks to Michael Weatherup. We hit the road a little and recorded a lot.
Around the summer of 1989, I was hired to run sound at The Point in Little Five Points. That lasted for about 8 months. (No thanks to Dan Nolen or Mike Reeves!) Then Bruce Bennett from Exocet Studios introduced me to The Pigs (where are you guys?). We hit every hole-in-the-wall bar in the southeast together. That lasted a long while.
Bruce also introduced me to The Months of Sundays. We played just about every fraternity and sorority in the southeast. (Thanks for all the great times guys). Finally, I got tired of the road and decided to get a real job.
I went to work for Rex Garrett at SHOWORKS. We installed sound systems in restaurants, churches and night clubs. He taught me a lot and I am grateful to him. All the while, I still ran sound for folks on the weekends. Then one day, my drummer at the time, Dave Taylor, offered me a job at Computers Made Simple in Norcross selling computers and related services. I couldn't refuse (Hell, it was an actual career!). Now I'm 9 to 5in' it at Computer STUFF, Inc. and engineering in my spare time.
Here's some of the places I've done sound:
