Dennis' Whiskey CornerServing Information and Reviews to the Curious Drinker Since 1997. |
DisclaimerIf you plan to drive, then plan not to drink. If you are pregnant, consider not drinking at all. If your wife is pregnant, try not drinking yourself; a little understanding goes a long way. If you are taking medication, consult your doctor and/or apothecary before consuming alcoholic beverages. If you think drinking is becoming a problem for you, seek help. Take my advice at your own risk! If you do not like my opinions you may ignore them--I do not warranty my claims in this page. I must warn the reader that its content is mostly composed of opinion and generalities taken from my often clouded memory (not dissimilar to most "information" on the internet). Very little in this page is definitive. This page is intended for the curious drinker, not the serious researcher. My motto on the topic of liquor is: If it tastes good, it is good. If your tastes happen to match mine, you have come to the right website. I do not give numerical ratings or tasting charts, nor do I even know why someone would want them. Numbers may work for proof, volume, and price, but they mean nothing in regard to quality and enjoyment. My reviews shall develop over time at a very individual rate. For those who take whiskey tasting very seriously, I have one suggestion for you: Relax. Prices quoted in this site refer only to my personal experience mostly in the Atlanta, Georgia, USA area. Liquor prices are set by retailers, are subject to change, and vary greatly by location. I do not sell liquor, and no price mentioned in this site in any way establishes a contract to buy or sell any product. Proof listed in the reviews is based on the American system (100° = 50% alcohol/volume) rather than British proof (100° = 57.1%). I have not received any payment for my reviews of any products or brands featured here. If you are a distiller and want me to review your product or re-review your product, please write to me and offer to send me a fifth to sample. I might require a second bottle, perhaps a quart, to make sure I like it. Chances are I shall not turn down an all-expenses-paid trip to tour a distillery either. A gift of any product is no guarantee of a favorable review. Conservatively speaking, good whiskey makes one jocose, morose, bellicose, lachrymose, and eventually comatose when consumed in liberal doses. -- the Author |
