To help with the restoration of our headquarters,
the 1837 Figh-Pickett (Barnes School) House, we hope that you
will consider any of various house elements as a tribute or
memorial. A brass plaque will be placed on the element naming
the
donor and the person in whose memory or honor the element was
given.
If interested, call us at (334) 264-1837. We still have a number
of windows, doors, stairs, etc. available as memorials.
Mr. Figh, when he built the house, paved his basement dining room
with marble tiles which he had salvaged from the site of the
first Capitol Building in Montgomery. Individual tiles can be
used as memorials. A plaque in the dining room will name all
tile donors and the persons memorialized.
If none of the above pleases, then we urge you to consider making
a contribution to the general restoration fund.
