The Montgomery County Historical Society is a
tax-exempt non-
profit corporation. We see our mission as the never-ending
collecting, storing, and disseminating information of all kinds
relating to the history of Montgomery County, Alabama. We
envision having a fire-proof and humidity controlled room in the
basement of the Figh-Pickett (Barnes School) House in which to
store valuable records. We hope to scan these records onto cdrom
disks so that the documents may be read on computers without
disturbing the originals.
We hope to acquire physical artifacts relating to the history of
Montgomery, and to display these artifacts in a Montgomey
City and County Museum located in the Figh-Pickett House.
