
How long do you keep my credit information?
Payment in full does not remove your payment history. The length of
time information remains on your credit file is:
- Credit and collection accounts: Seven (7) years from the date of last
activity.
- Courthouse records (such as judgments, liens, and bankruptcies): Seven
(7) years from the date filed, except for Chapters 7 and 11 bankruptcies
which remain on your credit file for ten (10) years from the date filed.
- New York State only: Satisfied judgments five (5) years from the date
filed; paid collections: five (5) years from the date of last activity
with the original creditor.
