Chili


Recipe By: Me and my Mom. I got the initial hack from her and have since changed it over the years. Sorry Mom.

3 1/2 lbs sirloin beef tip steak or some other type of lean beef (meat can be either ground or cut into small cubes)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion, chopped (or 2 tbsp dried onions)
1 1/3 tbsp chili powder
1 1/3 tbsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp garlic
1 tbsp oregano
1 tbsp cumin
2 cans tomato sauce
1 12oz can of V-8 juice (or use a big can and save the remainder for Dad)
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp hot sauce (like Tobasco or Texas Pete's)
1 tbsp Hananero hot sauce (optional)
1 tbsp salt
5 cans of dark red kidney beans, drained

Saute chopped onion in olive oil. Add beef and brown. Drain.

Put rest of ingredients (and dried onions, if used) in crockpot. Stir in beef and onions. Let cook on low for 8 hours, or high for 5 hours.

This stuff is good.
