The Leader's Way
Discovering the Inner Art of Leadership
Practical Solutions to Individual Leadership
Challenges
The challenges and possibilities of the 21st century impel us to look at
leadership in a new light. Historically, we have focused on becoming a true leader
by developing an intellectual understanding of it. Similarly, we have limited the
power and meaning of leadership by assuming that you can only be a leader if there are
followers. We have focused on intellect, but not intuition; knowledge, but not wisdom; and
often, have created an expectation that a leader is supposed to have all the
answers. Formal education and intellectual understanding do not teach us how to
incorporate all aspects of ourselves - mind, body, heart, and spirit - into living
leadership so that we can be most helpful to our countries, communities, organizations,
families, friends and selves. By incorporating all aspects of ourselves we are able to be
of greater service and we become truly fulfilled human beings.
Leadership is not just about learning to be a leader, it is about allowing your authentic
inner leadership qualities to come forth. Gandhi said: "Be the change you want to
create." This program is an opportunity to be a part of a journey of inner and
outer exploration. You will explore the key factors in leadership, discover your innate
leadership abilities and clarify the foundations of your power as a leader. You are the
journey and the destination, the leader and the follower.
This unique experience also blends an exploration of timeless leadership
concepts and ancient Andean spiritual principles with insights from the history of the
Inca into a synergistic whole for personal and/or organizational transformation.
This experience is a refreshing balance of adventure, introspection, and discussion that
will feed all aspects of your mind, heart, body and spirit.
"Leaders create positive change not only by
what they know, but simply by who they are."
-- Marie J. Kane

A Unique Leadership Retreat
A powerful catalyst for personal and professional
growth.
- You become a more effective leader and as a result have greater impact on your
organization and on all of your life.
- You experience the power of the sacred places to touch your heart and enliven your
spirit.
- You connect with your own personal power and wisdom.
Given the corporate bottom-line focus, you may want to know what you will be able to do
better as a result of this program. Each person is different. This program is
about who you are and how you manifest that in your organization. You will more
fully tap your potential and more effectively bring into play all aspects of yourself -
feeling, thinking, doing and being.
The design of the program is a metaphor for what goes on in your own life and
organization. It provides a framework and a catalyst for individual and group
exploration and discovery about leadership. It changes and flows with the needs of
the group and what's going on in the environment. Is there a clear program design?
Yes, but like our lives and our organizations it is fluid, challenging and
responsive. We shape it and it shapes us and, in the process, we learn and
grow. The program elements have been chosen to foster this kind of dynamic
experience.
This program is not for those who want absolute outlines, an emphasis on "book
learning" or precise outcomes. Because people and organizations are different,
what you bring to the program is different and what you will take away likewise will be
different. The testimonials from past participants attest to the wide variety of
benefits that different people derived from this experience.
What is the bottom-line of this program? The bottom line is that you discover
what can come forth from within you that will make you a more effective, satisfied and
satisfying leader. Or you may discover what has been blocking you as a leader.
Maybe both. Is there intellectual content in the program? You bet.
We will be sharing and discussing the thinking of many of the best thinkers
available today in this arena. But the focus of the program is on you and your
experience and your desires. Along the way you will learn new things, find yourself
in the new ways, have fun and make some great connections with other leaders.
Is this program for you? Only you can answer that. If you decide that it is
for you, one thing we can promise is that this will be an experience like no other.
At the end of the program you have an option to choose individual follow-up as an
additional program, if you so desire. The group also has the option to have a group
follow-up process. These options provide additional opportunities to build on what
you have learned with the support and shared insights of other leaders who are doing
likewise. Learning is hastened and multiplied, personal growth continues, and practical
application of what you have discovered is supported.
"Many leaders attempt to think their way into
right actions rather than act their way into right thinking."
-- Julia Cameron, Vein of Gold
