1996- Director and Instructor for Project SEED: Site-Based ESOL Endorsement in DeKalb. Designed, coordinated and delivered site-based endorsement courses for in-service elementary teachers.

1992-1995 Atlanta Satellite Coordinator for the University of Oklahoma Bilingual Education Multifunctional Resource Center. Coordinated training for North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. Planned training programs and provided training and technical assistance to programs serving language learners throughout nine- state region.

1990-1992 Training Associate for the Florida Atlantic University Multifunctional Resource Center. Developed training programs and provided training and technical assistance to programs serving language learners throughout the southeastern United States.

1982 Educational Consultant with school districts and programs throughout the United States and abroad. Projects have included: development of ESOL teacher training curriculum and video broadcast for the state of Florida; consultation for the Children's Television Workshop on the development of collaborative television programs with other countries, English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) curriculum development projects for Dallas, San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Gwinnett County, Georgia; a county-wide writing program and a school improvement project for the Coweta County, Georgia, Schools.

1991-1993 Convention Chair of the 1993 International Convention of Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages. Supervised the planning of all academic and professional business events for a conference attended by over 7000 individuals. Coordinated with TESOL Central Office and three consulting agencies; supervised paid staff of five and volunteer staff of 57 team leaders and committee chairs.

1986-1987 Director of "Language Through Content: Math, Science and Computer Skills for English as a Second Language Students," a project funded by federal discretionary funds to the State Department of Education of Georgia to develop an English as a Second Language Content Area Curriculum Guide for the State of Georgia.

1983-1986 Coordinator of the Georgia State University English as a Second Language (ESL) Summer Teacher Training Program at Garden Hills Elementary School in Atlanta, Georgia. Responsible for planning and implementing seminars, supervision of PK-12 ESOL teachers in training and development of curriculum, in addition to administrative responsibilities.

1981-1982 Assistant Director for United States Office of Education student-initiated grant, "Improving Peer Acceptance of Mainstreamed Handicapped Children by Teacher Training," Georgia State University.

1978-1979 Graduate Research Assistant, Georgia State University. Participated in experimental design, performed data collection and data analysis in several studies on children's communication with Dr. Lorene Quay, Dr. Marilyn Matthews, and Dr. Ruth Hough.

1969 Resident Manager of a psychiatric halfway house for adolescents for St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse New York.

1983 Middle School Instructor at The Children's School, Atlanta Georgia

1975-1976 Reading Instructor at Literacy Action, Atlanta, Georgia. Taught reading individually to adults.

1969-1974 Elementary School Teacher and Unit Leader at Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School, Syracuse, New York. Taught five years in an inner-city school in multi-grade classrooms. Worked with children from kindergarten through sixth grade. As a unit leader for three years, had administrative responsibilities for a team of seven to nine classroom teachers.

1968 Trainer at leadership institutes for high school student council members at Indiana University. Responsible for planning and carrying out leadership workshops.

1967 Community Development Volunteer in Michoacán, Mexico. Ran medical dispensary, taught literacy to adults, consulted on community improvements in rural Mexico.
