Our family spends a lot of good time together. We garden, travel, play catch,
barbecue, watch movies, walk the dog, tease the cats, play computer games.
Here are some snapshots and vignettes we hope you enjoy. And come see other family
stuff at deepgraysea.com.

Cheri is the one most gifted behind the camera, so Miles and I seem to end up in
snapshots together pretty often. Here are some of my favorites of the two
of us together taken over the last ten years.

Miles has always made cameras happy. Here are what I think are the best
and most interesting pictures taken of Miles since he was a baby.

Poppy and Jean Luc, our two cats, are sitting on the couch with me as I
type up this text on my laptop. They wonder why there is a
picture of the, ahem, dog here. Surely two attractive cats would be much
preferable. Especially if they were eating something delicious.
Maybe a cube of butter? On the kitchen table? When nobody's looking
of course.

Cheri and Miles are very close, and have some of their best times with each
other. Every so often I can sort of sneak up on them with a camera and
take a good picture; here are some that you may enjoy.

Our best family days are spent working in the garden, digging holes,
planting, mowing, pruning, just being outdoors in the sunshine. We've
made a couple of successful gardens already, and are well into a new
one. Here are photographs of our happiest places.

So what kind of a place is Shoreline, Washington?
Shoreline is a tree-filled suburb just north of Seattle.
We moved here because we could afford to buy a home, and also
because the school system had a good reputation.

There's a wonderful beach at Richmond Beach, on
Puget Sound, and a lot of community involvement in schools, churches,
athletics, stuff like that.

Kindergarten through high school kids are served by the big Shoreline
School District. Miles has had great teachers so far.

Shoreline was recently incorporated as a city, the 12th largest in the
state of Washington. There are a number of civic works projects
going on in town; new fire stations, a new library, sidewalks on the
main toot. The city council's website has background on local
governance.

This is an aerial photo of Richmond Beach, on Puget Sound, where we
like to go. There are more and larger photos at this site.
