Tilton manuscripts, 1840 - 1870 Hawkins Co TN census. ============================================================ Robert (1) Looney, Absalom (2) Looney, Michael (3) Looney, William (4) Looney William (4) Looney (ca 1785 TN - 1846 AR) journeyed from Hawkins County, TN to what is now Randolph County, AR possibly as early as 1802. The trip was most likely funded by William's father, Michael (3) Looney. William was accompanied on this trip by two Stubblefield cousins (probably Fielding and Coleman). The circumstances surrounding William's departure from TN are not known, but it is reported by many sources that Sarah Felkner (ca 1787 TN - ca 1870 TN) was with child about this time, and gave birth to William (4) Looney's first son, William "Gravelly Bill" (5) Looney about 1803. Sarah Felkner appears to have married __ Henderson in Hawkins County, TN. Henderson and Sarah also had a son, Pleasant L. Henderson, with whom Sarah was living in 1870.
