The Golden Gate Park Band has been playing free public concerts on Sundays in Golden Gate Park continuously since September of 1882.

Our free Sunday afternoon concert season begins April 20, 2008 and continues most Sundays to our season finale in October. Concerts begin at 1:00 p.m. and last about two hours. This season we will return to our home venue, the Spreckles Temple of Music at the Music Concourse in Golden Gate Park.

The Band plays a great variety of music that includes classic band favorites, opera, marches, Broadway show tunes, orchestral transcriptions, novelty tunes, folk music, and big band swing. We also feature soloists from within the band and guest artists throughout our season.

This summer we will continue our collaboration with various ethnic and arts groups in San Francisco who bring to the park their colorful costumes, dance groups, singers, and music.

Come and enjoy one of Americas oldest professional concert bands in the magnificent surroundings of Golden Gate Park.
