83 Alignment Telescope
As our most versatile alignment scope,
the model 83 incorporates two micrometers for precise
measurements in two directions perpendicular to the line of
sight. The telescope has built-in provisions for maintaining the
line of sight straight throughtout a focusing range of tow inches
to infinity, allowing the instrument to be located in the
tightest of setups. Straightness is maintained at ±0.001 of an
inch from two inches to 17 feet and one arcsecond from 17 feet to
infinity. Model 83 is also equipped for autocollimation and
auto-reflection.

83-1 Alignment Telescope
The Brunson model 83-1 alignment
telescope has the same capabilities as the 83 with the addition
of a right angle eyepiece. The eyepiece swivels 360 degrees for
ease of viewing from any angle.

82 Alignment Telescope
The Brunson model 82 alignment
telescope has the same physical configuration as the 83, without
the micrometers. This unique feature produces an economical
linescope that is compatible with the popular Brunson spherical
mounting system.

81 Alignment Telescope
Whether it is employed in complex,
multi-instrument setups or simply holding a reference line, the
81 is an economical and reliable optical alignment instrument.
This scope is well-suited to applications not requiring
micrometer measurements.

381 Alignment Telescope
Functionally similar to the larger
model 81, the 381's compact size results in affordability without
compromising accuracy. A different mounting base is required for
the smaller barrel.
Technical
Information
Barrel
The 6.978-inch long barrel meets A.I.A. specifications, and is
hardened and ground to assure good stability and accuracy.
The outside diameter is 1.7494 to 1.7497 inches.
Auto-Reflection Target
This paired line target is concentric to the line of sight within
±0.001 of an inch. Three spacings exist (0.012, 0.036 and 0.110
of an inch) between the paired lines for use at all distances up
to 100 feet. (A 0.092-inch radius circle target is also
included.) The target is illuminated from the rear by an
auto-collimation light source.
Mounting
The model 381 may be set up using mounting base model 388, 88-6
or "vee" blocks. Custom mounting hardware available by
request. (Mounting not furnished with instrument.)
Lighting
Illumination is supplied by a low-voltage lamp to decrease heat
distortion and shock damage. A transformer and cord are supplied
to step down 110 volt/60 Hz power.
Case
Hardwood case.
