Sokkia's Locus survey system sets a new standard for GPS surveying. Combining simplicity, affordability, reliability and accuracy, Locus is ideal for a variety of tough survey applications. Providing substantial productivity increases as a stand-alone solution or as a complement to traditional instruments, Locus is ideal for centimeter-level applications, such as control and boundary surveys. With a kinematic upgrade, Locus can take on additional applications such as topographical and as-built surveys.
Locus provides a complete system with state-of-the-art GPS receivers and integrated post-processing and adjustment software. With single button receiver operation and easy-to-use, comprehensive software, Locus is packaged for entry-level and experienced GPS surveyors alike.

A Complete Survey Package
The Locus survey system comes complete with everything you need for field data collection: receivers, tape measures, carrying cases, manuals even the batteries are included, and for working in your office, post-processing and adjustment software with an infrared device for transferring data. With the optional Kinematic kit, you receive the HP-48GX data collector, case, program card, pole mount and initialization bar. You can start surveying as soon as you open the package. To learn more about the Locus system, watch the comprehensive training video included with every system.
Integrated Receiver
By combining the receiver, antenna and communication interface into a single unit, Locus eliminates cables all of them. Data is transferred and the receiver is controlled via infrared. With nothing to plug in, nothing to connect, you have no heavy equipment to haul. Locus weighs only 1.75 pounds, which makes it easy for one person to comfortably carry, set up and manage. In addition, Locus operates for up to 100 hours on common C- or D-cell batteries to perform a multitude of surveys effortlessly and economically.

Static System
The Locus static system provides unparalleled ease of use and precision. Locus is capable of accuracies better than 1 cm. The convenient occupation time indicator ensures you have collected sufficient satellite data before you move to the next point. Locus can be fully utilized as a basic two-receiver static system or expanded to include three or more receivers.
Kinematic System
The Locus kinematic system is capable of dynamic data collection with shorter occupation times. Locus is ideal for high-productivity Stop and Go Kinematic surveys. The basic two-receiver kinematic system includes an initialization bar and a handheld controller with a program card, pole mount and environmental case. Use the handheld to enter point-specific attribute information for each site such as site ID, antenna heights and recording parameters.
Locus Handheld
The Locus HP48GX handheld with program card adds flexibility to your fieldwork. Required for kinematic surveys, or as an option for static surveys, the handheld controller is a valuable asset that provides detailed statistics on receiver operation and data collection status. As an option with a static system, the controller allows you to enter site information in the field, thereby removing this task from the person processing the data. The software program card fits snugly into the back of the unit for added convenience and versatility, making software upgrades easy.
Locus Processor
Running on a standard Windows® platform, Locus Processor provides data processing within a user-friendly graphical interface that provides a true representation of your fieldwork. The software is replete with quality analysis tools designed to ensure accurate and reliable results. Locus Processor features data processing, network adjustment, analysis tools, blunder detection and more. And with fully automatic processing, Locus Processor software consistently provides the best possible solutions without requiring you to manually process and manipulate data.
Locus Processor also includes several other features, including Mission Planning and Rinex data conversion. The Processor is comprehensive and intuitive, using three views of your data. The Map View displays the location of each point and allows you to graphically analyze the data such as loop closure analysis, site properties and more. The Time View indicates when each recording session took place, the receiver that recorded the data and all pertinent information about each point. The Workbook view contains all your survey information including data about each site and vector, control ties, loop closures, adjustment analysis and network relative accuracy. Use Locus Processor to create reports in a Rich Text Format suitable for any word processor of your choice.
Economical and Dependable
The Locus survey system is your one-stop solution for reliable
results at an affordable price. Combining ease-of-use with proven
Sokkia GPS technology, Locus is today's answer for smart
surveying. Please contact Sokkia for detailed information about

¹Accuracies assume minimum of 5 satellites, following the
procedures recommended in the product manual. High-multipath
areas, high PDOP values, and periods of high activity atmospheric
conditions will degrade accuracy. Post processing with Locus
Processor™.
The Locus Processor integrates one of the fastest
post-processing engines available, as well as superior blunder
detection to ensure proper processing the first time. As the
processing takes place, Locus Processor continuously updates a
graphical display to provide a true representation of your
fieldwork.
