2008 Rock and Blues Camp
Susan with be on staff this summer at Chicago Joe’s Rock and Blues Camp in Midtown as a keyboard instructor.  This is a very successful camp that is held at Spring4 Center.  They form bands with the teenagers who practice together and perform at the end of each week. No glitter, spandex or hotel room trashing, though.

Welcome to Chicago Joe’s Rock and Blues Camp at Spring4 Center in Midtown. Musicians 11-18 come here to spend a week honing their skills on bass, drums, guitar and keyboards. Some have never played together before, but Friday night they’ll perform on stage in newly created bands of up to six members.
“Guys, guys, guys,”pleads music teacher Susan Ottzen “We’re trying to make a chart for you and we’re almost done” She and David Robinson, 11, are huddled at a keyboard, pencils in hand, sheets of yellow legal paper spread out in front of them, trying to condense 16 pages of musical notes into a single page.

The 2007 Spring Student Recital was a BIG success.

Susan conducted an Aeolian Harp Workshop at the Carlos Museum, Emory University April 1, 2007, assisted by harp-maker Bob Cunningham.
Workshop participants enjoyed an interactive encounter with an out-door Aeolian harp sculpture, harps, and other musical instruments.

Susan and her harp appeared in the national commercial "ATL Brand" - "Every day is an Opening". Dallas Austin wrote the song, Mayor Shirley Franklin coined the phrase. Susan and her harp are seen in the playing field of Morris Brown College for the commercial.

It is a fact that Absolute Entertainment has become the music booking agency for the Georgia Aquarium and Susan is their favorite harpist. Jazz harp and the fishes will all be swimming together soon.

Susan and her sub Liesl Tison at the Shakespeare Tavern. They’re playing the Fantasticks from May 06 – June 25 2006. It’s the longest running show on Broadway.
