I think TV does not play a good role in our world today. We are creating, at times, this desire for a lot of people to want to be celebrities. Let's forget about people like me who do this for a living. Let's honor the schoolteachers, let's honor the firemen, let's honor the people in the political landscape in your local community. Let's make them things that we can present to our kids and say, look how important it is - this is what's important. The nurses in the hospitals, the people doing volunteer work. Those are the people that I try to honor and respect and show to my children how important they are, because we're losing sight of the fabric of what makes this country, and conversely this world, wonderful and special...what makes us great as human beings. -- Scott Bakula, Spring 2006

For the record, I don't have "insider info" (never did), I don't have "connections" (at least not those that I use too frequently); most of what is posted here has been found in TV, print media, or elsewhere online, by personal searches or posts and emails from other Scott fans (who should all receive an honorary degree in research). For more details, see the disclaimer. (Nope, no one has griped recently, it's just that with all the new visitors, I thought I would outline my purpose and methods.)		Who is that guy with the funny name playing the newest starship captain on Enterprise? Where did he come from? What has he done? What is he like? And how in the heck do you pronounce his last name? For the last 5 and a half years, this site has attempted to answer these questions and more.... Bakula News is an unofficial fan site for actor, singer, producer, director Scott Bakula. It was created in late 1995 to provide up-to-date news on Scott's current and future projects, archive information on prior performances, and let fans know where to buy his CD's :-) (yes, he does sing, and he has a Tony Nomination to prove it) and videos.  If you find this blurb to be poorly written, blame it on the webmistress, who lays no claim to being a writer, and is looking for anyone who can do a better job on this section. Please email me with suggestions or a life-preserver. :-) For many years, Scott's fans have been complaining about how Hollywood has overlooked Scott. Well, those days are over! He is finally getting the attention we always knew he deserved. (yahoo!!) But still this site exists--you will find many Scott fans to be a bit evangelical about the guy. We have many artifacts from our last eight years "in the wilderness" and are thrilled that we get to share them with new fans! Scott is one of the most versatile and talented performers working today. His projects -- films, television, and theatre -- have definitely been on the upswing (even his wardrobe is much better than it used to be ;-) ) and you will find information, articles, chats and photos from all his Performances here, as well as in the Enterprise Section What is Scott like when he's not performing? Check out the Fan Experiences section to get firsthand reports of how gracious he is to his fans and why we are so loyal to the guy, and the Articles & Interviews section to get a closer look at who is, what he believes,  and why he chooses the projects he does.  Scott attends, or performs at, many events for various charities. Ailsa Jenkins' site is the best source for Scott's Biography  and Resume with tons of information on his early career, neatly categorized for the completist. It is updated frequently (sometimes several times a day depending on where we are in the publicity cycle). Scott's eagle-eyed fans span many countries and are always on the lookout for the latest appearances and news (most of them have been doing this a lot longer than I have!) Join in the fun!
