From the NY Daily News tv magazine. "It Ain't Easy (or Cheap) being Boss." Talks about how Scott has to handle the purse strings as co-executive producer of MMS. He says, "We're always dealing with budgets. Money is an issue constantly--it can be stressful. Our own network doesn't think we can do it.....The network wants sexiness, drama, action and gadgets. Gadgets cost. Action costs. We've been out on location 6 out of 8 days per episode. Nobody does that anymore. It's a lot easier to be on a soundstage and maybe put in one day on a backlot--but you just don't get the same results. This way creates a lot of tension and a lot of pressure, but the payoff is exciting. We'll just have to see how we can keep it going." The next article is from one of those local papers they throw on your front lawn on Saturday. It tells a lot of Scott's background, which we know. It mentions "The Bachelor's Baby" (which, by the way, TV Guide rated a 2 out of 10; uh-oh.). Scott says of MMS, "This offered me an opportunity to play a role that I thought would be a lot of fun, and very challenging that in any episode I could play up to four or five characters And I thought to do a romantic comedy would be a nice switch and a different way for me to come back to television." Scott also says, "I like the power of television;I like the abilitly to reach a lot of people. I also like the speed of television, shooting something and knowing that in 6 to 8 weeks it's going to be completed." The article goes on to say that to be closer to LA where MMS shoots, Scott has put his Ojai home on the market. He says, "It breaks my heart to sell it, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do. The garden is my specialty. It is a combination of a planned garden and natural California vegetation. there is a wide variety of roses, grass around the pool and a small orchard." Scott also mentions that they'll use a lot of "movie magic" in shoot MMS. "When we shoot a bridge and put a matte behind it, we'll be in Prague for that moment." Thanks to Heidi on Long Island.
