Editorial comment:
I recently got an e-mail from a friend who either posted
or e-mailed an objection to advertisement of "erotic QL fan fiction" and
felt she "had to take a stand." This made me sit and consider what my
stand should be. Here's what I came up with.
I have long been aware that QL fan
fiction comes in many flavors--from the totally wholesome, to steamy, to slash and
pure porn.
Personally, I am not drawn to, and generally do not read, erotic fiction
(and if I do, I tend to skip over entire paragraphs and hope I'm not missing any
of the plot or dialog)--but some folks do. To each his own.
The purpose of this
site is to make fans of QL, Scott, and Dean aware of what is out there, related to
their fandom--all of it, everything I can find.
This particular page is devoted
to fan-produced merchandise--from fanzines to bumper stickers.
The postings on
this page do not reflect my personal opinions on any form of QL fan fiction.
The
postings DO reflect, my appreciation of the advertisers' respect for, and support
of, my freedom to express my fandom in my own way, and my support of their freedom
to do the same as well.
Pam
From author Elizabeth Storm:
>>I pitched "Palm Reader" to Ginjer at the same time I pitched "Pulitzer".
But
Ginjer felt, on reflection, that "PR" was "too complicated"
for the professional
novel program. Having gotten a final "non" from
her, I decided to publish it in
fandom. After all, that's where we all are, right?
"Palm Reader" was written to answer another unanswered question in QL:
In the
final "Evil Leaper" episode, Al proclaims that they have lost
contact with Alia
(at the end) but "wherever she is, she's free". Well,
I don't know about you,
but my first question was, "How the h**l does he
know that?" Even more, I
wondered where the Evil Leaper came from. And where
Lothos came from.
And my brain went into overtime.
"Palm Reader" is *my* explanation of Lothos, Alia, Zoe, and the whole Evil
Leaping
Project. And for those who have followed all the network discussions,
I'm happy
to tell you that my solution hasn't yet been proposed. So you won't
find any of
the "same old hat" in it.
What you will find is Sam Leaping into Tina; Al dying, and coming back; a biker
gang;
a near rape; and a lot of Don Quixote de la Mancha. It's a bittersweet
story,
and one that includes "a leap within a leap". So yes, it does get
complicated.

Hi, Ava. I've just heard from Mysti, and she'd like me to pass on the following
information:
"Palm Reader" will be available in May (probably for the MediaWest Convention).
She
does not take pre-orders, though, so only "what she has in her hot little
fist"
will be available. You may want to get on her mailing list so you know
when the
novel is out.
Her address is:
WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T PRESS!

And info on her upcoming novel, Angels Unawares:
>>As you may (or may not) have read in recent threads, the author of 'Pulitzer',
L.
Elizabeth Storm, is in the process of writing a new QL novel. Here is the
general
synopsis for the book which is to be titled 'Angels Unawares'. Due for
release
in the US around October of 1996. It's anyones guess as to when it will
be available
over here (UK).
"April 1, 1995, Windy Bluffs, Massachusetts. Sam Leaps into Fr. Samuel
Francis
O'Keefe, a 60-year old priest, one of the world's great linguistic
scholars. He
is about to spend a weekend at a convent, give a series of
lectures, and work
on his Arabic translation.
At PQL, Al Calavicci is juggling a surprise audit
by the Committee and a
shortage of personnel, due to the Christmas holidays. As
if that weren't
enough, when Angelita Carmen Guadelupe Cecilia Jiminez Assosordinez
shows up, he
knows he's in trouble.
At the convent, Sam has bigger problems:
the nuns believe they're seeing
apparitions. A 33-year-old woman whom Sam doesn't
know seems to want him to
continue his "relationship" with her; and
Teresa Bruckner, now 19 and in
trouble, shows up.
At St. Bede's on the Cliff,
GTFW brings Sam, Al, Teresa, Angela, Fr.
O'Keefe, and the sisters of St. Bede's
together for a moment that will change
all their lives forever."
You may remember Angela from the episode "It's a Wonderful Leap". She appears
in
the form as [Sam's] Guardian Angel. A person who, to the amusement of us
viewers,
gets right up Al's nose <g>.
Also, Teresa Bruckner was in the episode "Another Mother" where Sam leaps
in as
a divorced mother of three. She was the young daughter who could <see>
Al. Al
took a shine to her and promises her that he will return. That of couse
didn't
happen in the series..................
Hope you find this of interest. Remember....October 1996 <<
