Leap Con 96 Info
From: KFB OF PQL

Leap Con '96 is the fifth annual Quantum Leap convention in the Los Angeles area, and the third to be fan-run. They can't promise that Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell will appear this year, but historically they have always come to the con, usually letting the con folks know at the last minute that they're coming.
At last count, more than a dozen other guests were confirmed (guest stars and behind the scenes people), subject to professional commitments, with more on the way.

Just added to the list of attendees are:

The unofficial stuff

Updates thanks to Sue Gree! (who is not, as far as I know, associated with the Con, but was gracious enough to share the info she has gleaned)

The special Leapcon hotel rate cut-off was Jan. 8, but they will still honor it if they have a lot of rooms available. It could go up $10 plus tax per night. Call the hotel directly at (800)980-8000 and ask for Julie in reservations. Be sure to tell her you are with Leap Con '96.
The Leap Con committee member for the hotel is Diane Glosson

The hotel has a free shuttle to and from Burbank ariport. From LAX, a taxi or shuttlebus is approximately $30.

Driving directions from Burbank airport:
Turn right, out of the airport onto Hollywood Way South to Burbank Blvd. Turn right, and drive west to Vineland. Turn left, drive about 4 miles to Aqua Vista St. The hotel is on the left hand side.

There is space available at the "orphan" tables in the Dealers' Room. If you've got some merchandise you'd like to sell, you can reserve up to half a table for $25. If you know any dealers who would like to participate have them call Carol Davis

Programming hours are 9-6 Saturday and Sunday. Dealer's room open 9-6 both days. Pre-registration Friday 2-4 and 6-8. Registration opens at 8 a.m. Sat. and Sun. Registration is in the Cabrillo Rm., across from the Beverly Garland Theater.

There will be raffles of one-of-a-kind items.

The party will be after programming ends on Sat. There may be a minimal charge (less than $5) for admission to cover the cost of the munchies. This sure sounds like hors d'oeuvres to me.

Confirmed guests:

Other special guests as yet are not confirmed.

From what I know: If you haven't registered yet (like me) you should be able to do so the day of the con. Cost as far as I know is $50 for both days. There may be a one day price but I don't have that info.

Now as far as an AOL or Net get-together for dinner; last year we had a great time! I'd like to do the same thing again this year. There will be a party at the hotel but that has an extra $5 cost and most likely will be finger foods.

Contact RogerC by e-mail if you'd like to get together for dinner on either Saturday night or Sunday night. (Ask about the 'Net get together).

There is a possibility of doing Sulkcon live from the event! Here's hoping that will happen! [Editor's note--if it comes through, this will be on America On Line--so save up those AOL floppies you get in all the computer magazines and turn to my AOL page for more info on how to find the Leapers on AOL.]
