Such as they are, the pix at the reception were shot by Gianna (thank you Gianna), and the rest, by me - mostly Wednesday night in the back room at
Clyde's.
You can slideshow, zoom, download, ask me to remove (please include number), whatever.
In case you are wondering what Scott and I are looking at, it's a picture of me and my duck, which I've added to the album in case you want to see (it's very hard to take a picture of yourself and your duck - they prefer to climb your shoulders, get on top of your head, then fly away. after she got that out of her system, I got these)
Monday, January 28, 2008 - 12:10 a.m.
, approximately 10pm (ABC likes to play with the start and end times of its shows, so take care when setting your recording device)
Friday, January 25, 2008 - 04:03 p.m.
Thursday, January 24, 2008 - 07:46 p.m.
Scott's episode of Boston Legal, Glow in the Dark, has finally been scheduled, for now, for February 12 (ABC, somewhere around 10pm. I'm not kidding - ABC schedules show off-hour a lot, so make sure of the times, when the time comes. You wouldn't want to miss the first or last minute if he was in it)
Also Scott has committed to appear at the Quantum Leap Convention next year. Just click any of the banners below for more info.
Wednesday, January 9, 2008 - 01:58 p.m.

TV - Scott does guest spot on Boston Legal
TV Guide has posted an article mentioning Scott's upcoming appearance on Boston Legal.
If that sounds like I already knew about it, well... the source I got it from lists her source as "our friend in LA" and I prefer to use names rather than cutesy little obfuscations. So, here's a source I can quote by name - Michael Ausiello
If you are wondering why Boston Legal is still in production (until the 14th) thank David E Kelley, who, according to this Hollywood Reporter article (thanks to the DEK fanclub mailing list) "published three scripts" a few days before the strike began.
As David E Kelley is my all time favorite writer, and Scott mentioned last May that Boston Legal is, in effect, his favorite show (it was something like: if I don't have time for anything else, gotta have Boston Legal), I'm absolutely thrilled, and I'm betting he's pretty happy about it too.
Ausiello implies that there may be more than one episode, but I haven't heard any independent confirmation to that effect, and as noted, BL will be "down" as of the 14th.
The Futon Critic does not have this episode listed yet, so, stay tuned - probably January.

What: "A Cabaret Evening With Scott Bakula and Friends,"
a cabaret performance
When: January 17 & 18

How much: We don't know yet
Tickets on sale: We don't know that yet, either

Article in Washington Post
To keep the public aware that Ford's is only on a break -- [Ford's Producing Director]Tetreault won't know for a while whether the theater will reopen in fall or winter 2008 -- he plans a few other events during the drastically truncated season. "A Cabaret Evening With Scott Bakula and Friends," a benefit performance open to the public, will run Jan. 17-18, 2008, at the Shakespeare Theatre's brand-new Harman Center for the Arts. Bakula headlined in Ford's revival last year of the musical "Shenandoah."

American Body Shop
a reply from DBCTim on the American Body Shop boards re: Scott's episode
The episode was written with him in mind and was sent to him to see if he would be interested. He liked the script and so he agreed to do the show. There was a lot of excitement when he signed on, and that week was one of the funnest to film for sure.
Monday, August 6, 2007 - 08:18 p.m.
TV - Possible airdate for American Body Shop
The person who answered is projecting Scott's ep for August 19
I'm being told August 19th. The show is not on next Sunday because of the Flavor Flav Roast. But I believe the Scott Bakula episode is the very next week.
It is titled "Juicy Lou's Quantum Leap" and it is hilarious. He was amazing to work with and is brilliantly funny and a genuinely great guy. Please let me know how I can get the word out to all the many Scott Bakula fans like yourself.
If you have any ideas at all I am glad for the help."

TV - Mercy Mission
Since it's been a while and the video is selling for $200 *used* -- ION network is airing Mercy Mission, August 31 (see the link on the left side to Scott TV This Month). If you think you don't have ION, as I did - it used to be PAX network. Local channel mapping for ION can be found here. Those are broadcast channel numbers. Where it ends up on your cable system is another story altogether.
If you haven't seen Mercy Mission - record it when it airs. My second original tape is worn out from watching. My first original died in the two years between NBC airing #1 (Dec 1993) and #2

Info - The Scott Bakula song
Michael Jones interviews Sunspot and asks the eternal question:
Q: Okay, focusing on one song in particular, as a fan of Mr. Bakula and his work on Quantum Leap, where in the heck did that song come from? I just love it and I'll occasionally find myself humming the damn thing.
A: Lord of Illusions was on cable one day, and this was right before the Star Trek show with him came out and we were all monster fans of Quantum Leap. So we were just wondering whatever happened to Scott because we hadn't seen him in awhile. Plus he seems to embody certain qualities of masculinity that chicks love. He's macho and sensitive, smart but not afraid to take action. He's really Hamlet and Fortinbras rolled into one.

Work in Progress - No Strings Plot
I've posted a mini-guide to No Strings for those of you who didn't get to see it.
Last night my friend informed me that she has the original cast album, and was kind enough to type up the synopsis/liner notes she found there.
It's rather more detailed than some that we've found online and, hopefully, we will be adding to it, if our memories ever return from being Under the Influence of Bakula, as there are some changes, and some other details that I can add.

Travels - LA 2007
So... I realize that I haven't posted a single word since I got back from LA (and btw, a rerun of Scott on New Christine is on tonight on CBS - just don't ask me what time: my DVR has been dead since middle of March. If you speak Linux, email me).
The show was awesome and Scott looked great (sounded great too, of course)... and the reports, if there were any, were in the places I previously mentioned (come, join us on the SBRT) and here's a picture of me with Scott this year (it was cold in the theater, and outside in the courtyard, and I'd been up since 3:45am eastern when this pic was taken, around 10:45pm pacific (and when Scott asked why, I didn't tell him). Do I look conscious?

Online -- Recommended Websites
I know there a lot of broken links to Ailsa's Scott site. It was comprehensive and has not been equaled as a synopsis of Scott's career, since it was taken down :-(.
However, almost as good -- and in some ways better -- is Julia's site. While she doesn't (yet?) have a complete history of Scott's life and early theater career, as Ailsa did, she does have a real treasure trove of things Scott, including, but not limited to
- Scott's movies and TV shows, with screencaps
- Scott's other TV appearances
- News archives of recent articles and interviews with Scott, including Shenandoah
- A guide to Scott's music, including lyrics
- A nice, friendly forum, for us to talk about Scott
- and more...
all neatly organized, the way I meant my site to be...
4 stars -- recommended, highly. Check it out.
Monday, February 19, 2007 - 06:56 a.m.
TV -- TrekShow
"Star Trek: Beyond the Final Frontier," a two-hour special, will air tonight (History Channel at 9.) This article explains why Scott won't be in it. :-(

Publicity -- Blue Smoke Publicity Roundup
It's been a busy week, and for some reason I haven't managed to get to posting what little publicity we were able to locate
(oh right -- we were running around trying to replace the TV before Monday, among other things). So here it is all at once (the first two links are mp3 files, please right click on the links to save them to your hard drive before playing.)
*A brief phone interview on WHUD, Westchester,
*a somewhat longer interview from the Bob Rivers Show and
*the hopefully aforementioned video from Good Day LA (looks like that's gone. Try here)
thanks to Julia, Helene, Donna, Emma, Google News, and anyone else I've forgotten.

Feedback -- Lifetime
For those of you who wish to thank Lifetime for having Scott in Blue Smoke -- or encourage them to have Scott more often ;-) -- you can use this link to contact them.
thanks to Emma
For those of you who missed the movie -- Lifetime will re-air it on Sunday, at 7pm, Eastern. And I've heard that it will also be available on iTunes, for people in the United States.

TV -- Promos for Blue Smoke
Yup, it is time once again to play that exciting game we play: Where's Scott? :-)
According to PQL as posted on SBFF, Scott will be doing a satellite tour on Thursday (he sits in a room and people from across the country interview him for their local stations). Unfortunately we don't know which local stations these will be (it's a Lifetime Movie; not ABC, NBC, etc) so we have to hunt.
In addition to that, and the Good Day LA mentioned earlier, he will also be doing something for the TV Guide channel, in case you want to run tape, they have a rotation for their bits and I don't know how long it is. I also don't know which day.
So the best solution is... you're going to be seeing a lot of that Miss USA contestant with the blonde hair this week as you spend hours winnowing thru all the entertainment shows.
Good luck! (and let me know if you find out anything in advance)
thanks to Project Quantum Leap
Saturday, February 3, 2007 - 11:59 p.m.
To Buy -- Philadelphia Chickens
A friend recently noticed Kohl's is doing a Kohl's Cares for Kids Fundraiser. For $5 you can get one of 3 children's books or a stuffed animal. And one of the books is PHILADELPHIA CHICKENS (which comes with the CD -- Scott sings Pig Island).
We don't know how long the promotion lasts but if you have a Kohl's near you and don't have the CD (or want extra copies for all your friends) check it out

TV -- Monday morning
this is from Lifetime TV's Nora Robert's blog (http://norarobertsblog.lifetimetv.com/nora_roberts/)
**If you're in the LA area, tune into “Good Day L.A.” on Monday morning when Scott Bakula stops by in the 9:00 am hour to discuss his role in the upcoming “Nora Roberts’ Blue Smoke” and shows clips of his new Lifetime Original Movie.
If you have a VCR/DVR/DVD recorder, unlucky east coasters would love a copy..
Sunday, January 21, 2007 - 05:20 p.m.
Pictures/Video -- Blue Smoke
Lifetime, or Nora Roberts (I forget, and possibly both) has posted some pictures and video of Scott discussing various topic to publicize Blue Smoke (airing two Mondays after January 29).

Saturday, January 13, 2007 - 04:32 p.m.
Music -- iTunes
I got a new laptop that came with Windows XP, so I *finally* have XP and I got iTunes, cause I can, now, although the onyy thing I've ever bought from them was an ep of Scrubs (so I could watch it at work, on my oddly dark monitor).
Anyway... I was piddling around there the other day and decided to search for Bakula and they have 3 Guys... which is surprising. The funny thing is that *every* song from it is tagged EXPLICIT, even the ones which aren't.
So if you're new here, and haven't heard much of Scott singing, do try I Don't Believe in Heroes Anymore (it's awesome *and* poignant) and maybe Promise of Greatness.... or even the whole album (and anything else of Scott's I didn't notice).
Saturday, January 13, 2007 - 11:05 a.m.
Pictures -- New Years
Luanne Rice has posted a nice picture of Scott and Chelsea at New Years on her blog
Yes, Scott finally cut his hair (well, he had, more than once, in the interim, but it was still really long and now it's normal again)
thanks to Elaine for letting me know Google Alerts can now include blogs
Sunday, December 31, 2006 - 09:45 a.m.
TV -- Enterprise
For all of you who don't have HD (like me) Enterprise will be airing, from the beginning this time, Staring Monday, January 8 -- every Monday, for 4 hours, starting at 7pm. (and it will be the first time I see it on a channel that won't be UPN, so it should look better.) Gee.. Scifi officially airs a lot of Scott, now, don't they?
Monday, December 18, 2006 - 02:10 p.m.
It's not there
I was just going thru some old entries, looking for something and found this:
TV -- Enterprise Reruns to Air on SciFi this fall
according to an article on TrekWeb
Enterprise...will premiere in early fall on the SCI FI Channel.
looks like that didn't happen...
oh well.
if you have HDnet, you can see Enterprise. I don't, of course. Oh well, I'm happy with my DVDs of season 1 of Fame and St Elsewhere, and I haven't even opened the Donny and Marie DVD yet...

TV -- Not much more on Blue Smoke
myfutoncritic sent me the latest press release on Blue Smoke.
There's really nothing new there, aside from Libby Beers, Vice President, Original Movies, comment:
"...Scott Bakula, who has an extraordinary fan base..." as she mentions who he is cast as.
I admit to wondering how it is that she knew (that we are ;))
Thursday, November 2, 2006 - 10:48 a.m.
New Project -- Lifetime Movie
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Scott will be co-starring in a Lifetime Original movie, airing in February '07
Here are some details:
Alicia Witt is set to star in "Blue Smoke," a Lifetime original movie based on Nora Roberts' best-selling novel.
Matthew Settle, Scott Bakula and Talia Shire also have been cast in the project... that Lifetime plans to run ... in February. [moved to February 12 - thanks to Jamie]
"Smoke," ... tells the story of Reena Hale (Witt), who as a child witnessed her family's pizzeria go up in flames. Years later, she becomes a detective working on the police department's arson task force alongside her hero, John Minger (Bakula), the man who found out who was responsible for the fire at her mother (Shire) and father's restaurant.
Hale finds happiness when she meets Bo Goodnight (Settle), a hunky carpenter who becomes her next-door neighbor and paramour when a pyromaniac stalker who killed any man she loved reappears in her life.
Bakula, [I guess this is the latest publicity blurb] who played the leads on the series "Quantum Leap" and "Enterprise," recently guest starred on two episodes of CBS' "The New Adventures of Old Christine." He is repped by ICM.

Scott's Birthday
Birthdays are a time for celebration.
Since Scott is not here, and would never be reading this anyway, I've decided to celebrate anyway.
I'd like to celebrate and thank all of you, who I have met, online and in real life in the last 12 and a half years of my being a fan of Scott's. If it were not for him, I would never have met you; I would never have had the experiences we've shared, the things I've learned from you, the support (received and given), the trials we've held each other thru, the community, the giggles, the trips, the silliness, and everything else
So thank you -- all of you -- for being a part of my life (in many cases a big part) for the past 12 years, and especially Kay: You are the best gift Scott ever gave me.
The rest of you know who you are, and I deeply appreciate you.
Happy Birthday Scott -- you have created a fertile garden for great things, and your fans have brought them to fruition.

Many thanks to Monica.

Online -- Web Radio Celebrates Scott-related Shows
Got a note from area51radionstation.com. Seems they plan to have an interview with... let me let them explain:
There will be interviews with some of the stars who
served on the bridge of Enterprise. Dominic Keating (Lt. Malcolm Read
in Enterprise) offers some fascinating insights including a prank
played on Scott Bakula (Captain Archer) during the filming of the
series.
For those of who like to vote for things, they are mentioning polls, including
Just imagine you have to serve on one star ship. Which captain would
you trust with your life?
starting Sept 30th as part of their celebration of Star Trek's 40th anniversary.
Sometime later, they'll be covering Quantum Leap.

Christine taping
For those of you who don't have time to frequent message boards, Helen, Corky and Lily have posted some snippets from the taping of Scott's first ep, over on the SBFF
If you are avoiding spoilers, only the last post comes remotely close to being one, and then only in the last few sentences. (Of course this depends on the level of your spoiler allergy -- mine's generally fairly high, but it may depend on what's being discussed. When discussing Grey's Anatomy with me, you can name future guest stars, but that's about it.)

Startrek.com has an article and pictures from Scott's appearance at the Las Vegas Trek Con. This is part ONE
Pictures can also be found at Getty Images
thanks to Pippa on that second one :)

Reports - Vegas Con
Since I won't be having any reports of my own, I will refer you to
- trek bbs (thanks to Joanne). check out a posting from Commodore64
-
this guy's livejournal (try to read around the chip on his shoulder -- and thanks to Joanne for that "analysis" ;) )
-
Got an email that Scott sang "something from LaMancha" and was "very nice" when signing autographs (or possibly it was "doing photo ops," I forget) so it looks as if Creation "allowed" him to actually speak to the fans.
-
More pix and reports at SBFF thanks to Shan, Helene, and Barbara (so far). I'd keep an eye out there.
There's a taping of Old Christine (see below) tomorrow, so I would *continue* to keep an eye out there.

VideoGames -- Scott will voice...
According to an article in many places including Fox News, Scott Bakula will voice [his] character.... [for] the game, "Star Trek: Legacy," due out in October
Monday, August 7, 2006 - 10:45 p.m.
Video -- from St Louis
With thanks to Janice (for the heads up) and Joanne (for her great internet research), Julia has managed to create a clip of Scott being interviewed at the game in St Louis the other night. It's about 2 and a half minutes and 25,464 KB.
for the bandwidth challenged, Julia has also done some screencaps, which can be found from a thread here
Saturday, August 5, 2006 - 10:05 p.m.
News -- TV and stuff
from Janice in St Louis
Scott is at the baseball game in St. Louis and just spent an inning with the
radio announcer.
Big news, he will guest star on "a couple of episodes" of the Old Adventures
of New Christine.
unfortunately, Janice didn't have a recorder running... Anyone from St L who did? Email me..
and here's some more detail, from Janice's memory (so don't quote her or anything -- it's all paraphrase)
Mostly he said:
-He had just gotten back from DC
-He wants to do more theater
-His first time back to St. Louis since DC
-QL gave him opportunities to play a wide variety of roles including sport
related roles
-He "pinches himself" everyday because of his good fortune (That is not
an
exact quote, but the gist of that conversation. I think the announcer asked him
if he pinched himself and he said "Yes, everyday."
-He will be on a couple of eps of Old Adventures of New Christine
-He will be at the Las Vegas Star Trek Con. He said that he doesn't really
know what to expect and plans to just show up and see what happens.
-He complimented our new stadium
That's about it.
thanks again to Janice
and I think it's the New Adventures of Old Christine

TV -- Enterprise Reruns to Air on SciFi this fall
according to an article on TrekWeb
Enterprise...will premiere in early fall on the SCI FI Channel.
and apparently The Invaders
Three highly acclaimed miniseries, including two from Stephen King, will also premiere exclusively this fall. Invaders stars Scott Bakula as a man who discovers an alien conspiracy and attempts to foil their plot by warning the earth of imminent danger.

Live Appearances: Considering Vegas?
Here's some helpful info from Shan
I've also heard, for those of you who are going for the photo op, that the allotted time is 15 seconds, and does not include conversation.
Of course, if you are only going to hear Scott speak, then you're all set.
I'll be home, hoping for more theater or some-such. I've destroyed my travel budget for the year already, so I'm hoping it won't be this year. TV, though, is always nice.

for years, we've heard how Scott's "butt" is all that's left of him in L.A. story. this article says we now get the rest.
The 15th-anniversary disc includes never-before-seen footage of previously unseen cast members John Lithgow and Scott Bakula.

yup, C-SPAN did air it.. at 2am, 3am, on C-SPAN 2 and 3. Almost no one caught it. No one caught it in time. [sigh]. So, now it's available for sale (I actually did buy it) and here is the really long [and broken] link (or a really long url, hidden under that link).

DC Pix and Reports
There are a lot of pix and reports at SBFF, so far. Trudy has set up special sub-forums to save them. My pix are coming. Julia just got them uploaded last night (I just got them to her) so stay tuned... (I won't be home tonight, I have a shoot at 7)

Online -- TrekToday synopsizes Scott's NPC.. discussion
Donna of PQL reminds me that TrekToday has a synopsis of Scott's talk at the National Press Club.
Thanks Donna (sometimes the brain doesn't entirely kick in, despite the google alerts and the notes on the SBFF -- "oh wait! Someone might still be on dialup.." Oops.)
There are *two* pix at TrekToday.. (I think they are smaller, though)
Wednesday, April 19, 2006 - 10:43 p.m.
Press Club Video Download
I'm guessing they may still air this on C-SPAN, but to hold you over -- the girls on SBFF have pooled their info and their talents and uploaded a copy you might be able to get if you cannot get it from C-SPAN's streaming video storage place. (ran out of words. talking a lot tonight)
check
this thread on SBFF, and let us know when the You Send It links max out. We will upload the files again.
thanks to Emma, Julia, Kristina, Joanne, Trudy for playing Den Mother, and anyone else I forgot. Scott looked awesome and he was very articulate and diplomatic in dealing with some of the really tough questions that were posed to him. He was also amusing. The man can give a speech. But he didn't much have to. The questions were also awesome. My kudos to their progenitors! Great job, you all!
Wednesday, April 19, 2006 - 08:52 a.m.
We still don't know anything
as to whether and when C-Span will be covering this. What we do believe is that it may not be list as such in their listings. I'm setting my DVR to just record the channel(s) but I am runnung out of space, so, if anyone see this at any time today, please IM me -- PamACSI (on AIM). That's my work IM so only if ot's time-sensitive (as this will be). Thanks

TV -- National Press Club (hopefully)
here is the text of the email Joanne got from the President of the National Press Club.
Your question for Scott Bakula was forwarded to me, because I'll ask the questions on Wednesday. I'll try to get to it. The luncheon itself may or may not be carried live on Wednesday at 1 p.m., depending on what else C-Span has planned. You can check it Wednesday morning at
www.c-span.org.

In my poking around the National Press Club's site the other day, I found a Submit a Question button, which was a mailto link.. for jbloom@press.org
so you can give that a shot if you have any questions..
Remember the luncheon is Tuesday at 12:30. We're hoping for C-SPAN coverage but have no details yet. (If you get any, email me at the link below.)
Sunday, April 16, 2006 - 10:18 a.m.
Print -- USA Weekend
Scott is mentioned, with a little picture, in USA Weekend, today.
The text is
Scott Bakula may be best known for his TV roles, but his heart belongs to the theater. So he's in Washington, D.C., this month starring in the musical Shenandoah in the historic Ford's Theatre, where "you see the presidential box and you can't help but think about [Abraham Lincoln's assassination]. We're shooting guns on the very stage." Bakula, 51, whose first professional job was as the son in Shenandoah some 30 years ago, took the role of a Southern family patriarch trying to keep his family out of the war because it's one of "the rare big musical roles for men." The play, "unfortunately, resonates very deeply right now [because], as a planet, we're basically at war."
thanks to Joanne, including thanks for the transcription!

Help -- London Scott fan looking for pic of herself
Were you in DC March 31? If so, here's a request from Linda
On the 31st March my sister and I were at the evening show and after the performance we waited by the stage door with at least 30 to 40 other enthusiastic fans for Scott to appear, I was the first one to approach him for an autograph when he appeared through the stage door, and I had asked my sister to take a picture of me and Scott (which she did) but when we went back to the hotel we viewed the pictures and my sister had taken a picture of Scott's head (not to say that he doesn't have a lovely head, because he does), but coming all the way from London UK purposely to see him I felt cheated as I had taken a lovely picture of Mr B and my sister.
So, Linda is looking for anyone who might have taken a pic of Scott with her in it. She describes herself as "brunette and Italian looking." You can dig up her post at the SBFF, or just use the link below, to email me.

The cost is $35 and tickets must be reserved at 202-662-7501 or reservations@press.org
We believe this will also be televised on one of the C-SPAN channels, although it may be listed under a generic title.

TV ALERT -- DC area
Joane wrote to Maryland Public Television through their website and got this reply:
Yes, we are presenting a short interview with Scott Bakula on
April 5 at 7:30pm.
It will repeat on Saturday at 9am and on Comcast’s local channel, CN8, on Friday at 1pm, 7pm, and 10pm.
He did a great interview, of course, and it’s definitely worth tuning into.

Pictures -- Mine
A couple of pictures from our Q&A with Scott can be found here
and here.
It was dark and I was in the second row (I was so blessed last May being in
the first row, that I thought I'd just sit in the second), so they are dark
and not great, but I thought you might like to see. I'll try to get to getting
the rest of the reviews/interviews posted, but I haven't done my taxes yet,
and I'm still not unpacked (and allergies are hell this year!)
many thanks to Julia for the hosting

Chat -- March 29th
Helene posted on SBFF and I'm just going to quote her (quoting of.. whoever she got it from) :-)
Please note that Scott will do a Live, OnLine Chat with WashingtonPost.com at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29.
Within a few days, WashPost will activate the CHAT site, which will include a photo of Scott, bio and blurb about Shenandoah. Once activated, interested parties will be able to leave questions and comments for Scott to review and possibly answer during the chat.
Of course, we would hope that those same parties and others would log on to the actual chat on Wed., March 29, as well.

Finally! Some decent publicity
From Yvonne:
Just opened my Sunday early edition of the post and there
is a decent snippet with an almost full-size photo of Scott on the back side
of the Arts section. I looked it up on the Post website. Try their
website
You might have to sign up for an account (no cost) to view
the site. Scroll down and choose "next page" to view the article.
It doesn't have the photo, but it's just a bigger version (down to thigh level)
of the previous photo they ran back in February. A nice keepsake if anyone is
already in town and can put their hands on the Post while they are here. They
should run the same thing in the regular Sunday Post.
here's the text from the website
YOU MIGHT KNOW him from telegenic adventures that had him
flying through time ("Quantum Leap") and space (the final Trekkie
series, "Enterprise"). But fewer people are aware of Scott Bakula's
earthier entertainment life as a Broadway song-and-dance man. He's applying
his non-celestial skills on the stage at Ford's Theatre, where he's begun performances
of "Shenandoah." The revival of this Civil War musical from 1975,
with a score by Gary Geld and Peter Udell, is directed by Jeff Calhoun ("Big
River").
-- Peter Marks
At Ford's Theatre, 511 10th St. NW. Through April 30. $25-$52.

Fan reports can be found at the SBFF, where Trudy's kindly made a sub-forum

Shenandoah -- Interview and Tickets
First off, someone has two tickets to the March 18th performance which they are trying to get rid of. Please email me if you are interested, and I shall send you in the right direction. He's not giving them away, but... if you couldn't get tickets for that night, here's your chance.
Second, Project Quantum Leap (see link below) has an new interview with Scott in their next issue.
Excerpts from it are at their website.
I believe you can join the fan club, or you can buy single issues. That info is at their website as well.
And a big round of applause for Sharon, who did the interview(ing). I couldn't have come up with these questions, and yet, they were just the things I wasn't aware I'd been curious about.
Thirdly, Helen and the roomies are having a video party the 25th or 26th. Email me for more details if you plan to be in town those nights.
Conversation about plans and such continues at the SBFF, especially in the Bakula Travel Plans sub-forum. Reminders about extra traffic in DC for the 25th, due to marathons and cherry trees, and all sorts of other things.
Links to SBFF should be on the left panel, as well as the link to the Shenandoah Info Page (to which I would be adding more items, if I had an HTML editor installed on this machine (I hate writing HTML by hand)).
Friday, March 10, 2006 - 09:34 p.m.
A week, or two
It's been quiet here, I know. I've fallen in love with Grey's Anatomy and will gush about it to anyone who wants to listen.
However -- I haven't forgotten Scott (it's been 12 years now; do you really think I would?) I'm going the second weekend, which is apparently Opening Weekend. I'll be at the theater the 24th, 25th, and 26th (all shows) so, come up and say Hi if you want (I'm shy, though it may not look that way).
If you are going, check out the Info Page link on the left column for all kinds of DC info. You can also check out the Bakula Travel Plans board over at the SBFF. Looks like it was actually warm in DC today... if only it would last. Packing for spring is tricky

Comments about Scott -- Gary Graham
Gary Graham, who, I believe, played Soval, has written a book, entitled "Acting and Other Flying Lessons." His comments on Scott, with thanks to startraveller on Trekbbs, follow
Working with Scott is to remember what first drew me to acting. Playing. Scott truly plays when he works and that spirit infects both cast and crew. Laughter is no stranger on a "STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE" set. With a lively and engaging wit, Scott regales anyone within earshot with a steady string of one-liners, self-deprecating remarks, and hilarious anecdotes. His co-star, the lovely and diminuitive Jolene Blalock, is often in stitches from his pranks and humorous asides.
Not that he's not serious when the camera rolls. When it's time to get down to work, Scott is one of the hardest working actors in the business. As star of the show, he is in nearly every shot. That alone takes its toll on one's stamina and concentration, but Scott is always prepared, gracious, and positive on the set.
And generous. He allows his costars and guest leads focus and energy and always gives a full and truthful performance, whether he's on camera or doing off-camera lines. If one of us screws up a line, he habitually says, "That was my fault" even if it is glaringly obvious that it wasn't. This can get comical, which is good--we laugh, Scott smiles, and we go again. Scott knows that levity can loosen up a set and defuse any actor tension hanging around. He is completely approachable, seemingly devoid of ego, with an easy-going, down-to-earth and engaging personality. he is very fit, does most of his own stunts, and carries the role of a starship captain with a balanced sense of command and compassion. He believes what he says--and makes you believe.

RUMOR -- and I don't believe it
For a couple of days there's been a rumor of a Trek Movie with Shatner, Picard, and Scott.
I haven't posted it, cause I don't believe it's anything more than wild, unsubstantiated speculation and pipe dreams.
however, for those of you who might want to see what it's all about, check here
personally, from what I've read, it barely even qualifies to be dignified as a rumor. (is there anything *below* "rumor"?)

Joanne got through to Ford's Theater and here is what they said
Just talked to the Box Office.... A very nice young man told me
Scott is SIGNED and COMMITTED to perform through April 30!
He added that the theatre is still negotiating to get him
to stay through the original ending date in May, but he couldn't confirm where that stands. Scott's name was taken off the website until everything is ironed out.
I told him a lot of people are planning to come only because
it's Scott, and he sighed, "Yes, we KNOW!"

Shenandoah -- Date Change
Yesterday morning when I was vhecking out Ticketmaster's site, I was confused that the dates listed were only thru April 30. Later I got an email from a friend who was planning to go in May - the theater had called her (but they may not be calling everyone: she had told them, specifically, she was only going for Scott. smart girl) to tell her Scott might have a conflct in May (nope, I don't know any more than you do) and did she want a different date. Last night Ford's home page still listed the show as running till May 21, but today it's been changed to April 30th.
thanks to KH and Lily, and to Rosanna, for making me check

Old Stories You May have Never Read
I was googlegroup searching yestrday and came across thesee two great postings
by Rosanna of aboutjohncullum.com
The first, about podium
moving at the VQT banquets (which I'd heard before and forgotten), and Scott's
and John Cullum's interactions
with fans (and each other) at the 92 banquet (which I had never heard before).

Comments on Scott -- from Dominic
The following is from an interview with the UFP fan club of Australia
What is the funniest moment you can remember on the set of Enterprise?
Wow, umm… There was one particular day, I guess it was when we were just launching the show I think. Scott went off to New York to do a bunch of press and he did the Rosie O’Donnell show which is a chat show and she’d found this old commercial that he’d done back in the 70’s when he was getting started as an actor and it was late 70’s early 80’s and it was done as a musical theatre commercial and he was the Canada Dry guy, you know with a little head scarf you know and leg warmers, leggings I mean and it was pretty cheesy. Anyway, the supervising producers got a copy of the said commercial and they got it linked up by the guy that did all our video stuff so that at a hit of a switch it would go all over the computers and the big plasma screen at the back of the bridge and the situation room. And Scott was… no, sorry now that I think about it you can’t get Canada Dry bottles anymore. They don’t make them but the props department made up a bunch of these green bottles with the logo on it and we all had one hidden. So one of the PA’s was sent off to get Scott to go do the next shot and he comes swaggering in like the captain you know he’s all good to do the scene and then someone goes shhh and this cheesy commercial and we all started dancing Canada Dry guy, Canada Dry guy (he actually sang this in the interview) you’ve never seen a grown man go so pure red in just an instant. It was pretty funny.

TV -- Reminder
There are some reruns of Scott's History channel series today, and (probably not) some new eps tomorrow. See the schedule below
Donna notes that several of the eps are from previous years and do not contain Scott (thanks Donna. I don't watch THC enough to even know this is a regular series)

Scott History Channel Tonight Really
according to all the listings services I've looked at, Scott's THC series should commence tonight at 8 (and 9) pm (eastern) on The History Channel. No matter what viewer relations and the promos said, yesterday.
Tonight... tonight... (can you tell i'm in withdrawal??)
Monday, October 24, 2005 - 09:16 p.m.
So, I didn't believe them when they emailed Joanne
and even when they showed the bumper with Scott *in* it. But I'm almost 100% sure that tomorrow night at 8 and 9pm on the History Channel, as my two sets of listings say -- Scott will be on.
Stay tuned.
Monday, October 24, 2005 - 05:44 p.m.

TV NEW -- History Channel
According to a couple of posters on the TrekBBS and SBFF:
History Channel ... it seems that SB will be hosting a week of the Greatest History's Mysteries.
According to Anita, this will be all next week.
We were unable to find anything on their website but promos are running. I guess you have to check the channel itself.
There's not a lot of information clearly available on this, so I've
compiled a listing from my own TV listings program. There are duplicates. The channel is not listing them as History's Mysteries, so it's a bit hard to dig them out.

Comment -- from John B.
from an interview with John Billingsley at MovieHole (Australia, I think)
Bakula was actually rumoured to be returning to do a new series -- and possible telemovie kick-start -- based on his 80's hit "Quantum Leap", but Billingsley says his co-star is exhausted after "Enterprise", and has no plans to return as time-travelling Sam Beckett in the future. "No. My speculation is that Scott's going to lay low for a while. He's got a big family, and certainly doesn't have any financial need [to do Quantum Leap] and it's exhausting doing series television, particularly if it's an action/adventure show".

Braga makes disparaging comments on Enterprise actors work in finale, and other items
According to a report at TrekWeb, which came from an interview with Braga at thefandom.com (which can be downloaded), Brannon Braga has apparently said the following (among other things)
"We made the creative decision to do a final episode that was a nod to all the STAR TREKs. ... It was not everybody's cup of tea. ... I don't think that the actors liked it. I think it showed in their performances that they weren't happy and that the episode suffered from that.
for more detail, fan reaction, and info on how to offer support to the actors themselves (via letters which will be delivered by trekunited) should you be interested -- or even if you just want to vent -- check out this thread at the SBFF
I'm still watching the news from the New Orleans TV stations, streaming across the web from the stations to which they have evacuated, and I'm praying (which is something I do, but try not to advertise much when I do it (that note for my various friends who are going thru "stuff" and have not heard "on list" that I am))
I should also note that SBFF is running a guestbook for birthday wishes for Scott, as well as suggestions for contributions to Our Little Haven, which is one of Scott's supported chartities. These things were posted before Katrina even hit our consciousness.
As for Katrina, I am well aware, it could just as easily have been us. (again. but far worse than last year.)

Comments about Scott -- Dominic
from Starburst 69 via Dominic's website
Looking back at his time on Enterprise, Keating has nothing but good things to say about the show’s cast, in particular, Scott Bakula.
"One of the times I welled up on the Friday that I previously spoke of was while we were shooting a scene in the shuttlepod launch bay," he says. "It was me, Scott, John Billingsley, Linda Park and Anthony Montgomery.
I remember watching Scott at work and thinking, 'Scott,
I can’t tell you how great these past four years have been. I’ve learnt so much
working with you, not only about the craft of acting and how to carry oneself
on a film set, but also about being a human being.'
There's at least one more mention of Scott and a cute comment on the dark alley meeting
"Scott is an extraordinary individual and one of life’s true
gents. Without sounding too full of myself, there are moments in my daily life
when I’m not prone to take the high road, and I’ll ask myself, 'How would Scott
Bakula behave in this situation?' That's the kind of positive affect he’s had
on me."

Off Topic
I hope you will permit me a very off-topic wild scream of joy: Once and Again, Season 2 is being released on DVD in August! Okay, better now. House, season 1, also, I believe, in August. For those who don't know, the rest of Enterprise is also coming out this year. And yes, my bank account cannot handle all of this. Enterprise isn't going anywhere.... not anymore, anyway.

Picture - Me and Scott , better, 2005
I had some problems with the CD that they made of my pix, so the folks at Ritz Camera tried again, and then sent it to a store with a better machine. They weren't kidding about the "better" part. Now Cory's head isn't cut off (and btw, Cory, I got your package yesterday. Wow... thanks!) and I don't look like a ghost. Still, I liked Picasa's "warmity" feature, so I let it adjust the color a bit and here is the result. I just might print it. :-) (and for those who like the necklace, $70 at Target. That was a splurge -- I think the *dress* cost less than that!)

My picture with Scott 2005
Yup, despite the way it looks, this is the actual picture of me and Scott. The original jpg was so very washed out that my artist had to be very creative with the gamma correction and other things of which I am clueless - he even used a mask as he had to correct us both separately.
Reports from the weekend continue to live at the SBFF. Thanks to Trudy and everyone who was there, including Scott, Chelsea, Jay, Ilene, Ben, Richard S. David M. and the roomies, and Teresa :) who made everyone feel welcome

I'm home!
I'm dead, but it was worth it. I know it's been quiet here, but according to the stats, no one's been reading the page anyway. So if that's not true, feel free to email and let me know. My address is on the contact page (which should have a link in the side menu). Do also check out the SBFF, which has *always* been in the side menu (or at least since it started), for reports and such on our weekend.
As noted, dead, and not even unpacked yet (that always takes me a week or two, and for bonus points, my house is a mess!) but happy. How could I not be? Someone smiled down upon me (no, not *him*) and gave me a front row seat! (which actually led to "him" smiling down on me, come to think of it.) It was all beyond wonderful, and definitely worth the $700 (thanks roomies! hope to hear from you again soon. just to chat. but I know life is busy.) before trinket shopping.
