Welcome To Beaker's Home Page

You've stumbled on to the home page of Gedalia Pasternak a.k.a. Beaker. This page has been around in various incarnations since 1996. Quite a long time in terms of the web. Well there are a few reasons you might be here; you might be a close friend, employer or a random web surfer or last and possibly the most troubling you could be my mother checking for spelling errors. Well, good news Mom - web design tools have evolved to such a degree that I can now use a WYSIWYG program with an integrated spell checker as a opposed to the grand old days of pico and Emacs. However, the grammar is still going to stink.

Some background info: Gedalia was manufactured on the east coast of the United States of America, Long Island to be exact. He is currently installed in Manhattan where he has been functioning for the last 6 + years.

He was classically trained as an engineer by the The Cooper Union, which after four years of systematic abuse gave him a BS in Engineering, kicked him out and told him to donate some money so that they could do the same to others. Whether Gedalia became the property of Peter Cooper when he enrolled is still being debated.

Gedalia wears a lot of different hats. Deciding that code output should be pretty, he spent time at R/ Greenberg Digital Studio, where he discovered exactly how they do all those special effects, including discovering that when you're working on a Disney commercial, "magic" is a quantifiable concept.

When he isn't working he can be found covered in clay, drawing, rollerblading, debating at Columbia's Philolexian society, arguing about Judaism or religion in general,  claiming that "no, not all engineers act like Dibert," and every once in a while, with his nose in a physics book.

This website is under construction and may spontaneously combust at any time... insults, comments, funny faces, and offers of money are all welcome; please refer them to paster@mindspring.com

And remember no matter what... Don't Panic!
