Emperor Kang Xi ruled during the Qing Dynasty (1662).
He was, as emperors go, a fairly good one - educated, cultured and clever.
The book is 2 15/16 x 2 1/2 inches and has Chinese gold embroidered silk over boards.
There are two handsewn texts, one on each side of an "n" shaped cover...
English and Chinese, with many illustrations and 55 pages in each text.
