Bruce's Handmade Wooden Toys

The birth of our first grandchild gave Bruce the much anticipated reason to start making toys again (having made them for our own children some 30 years ago).

This car (called The Woody) was actually made a few months before Theo was born:

 

This next toy came as a result of Theo's two current passions:  using tools such as hammers and screwdrivers and his love of cooking.  Theo needed a workbench and he needed a stove.  Bruce decided to make one toy do both!
 
Here it is as a workbench. To convert it, the tools are put away in the drawers, the vise taken off, a panel in back is lifted up brought down as a new top, and the cabinet is pulled out and turned around to open as an oven. Here is it as an stove.

 
Theo and his mama love to work in the garden and so Bruce made Theo this wheelbarrow: Theo also has a passion for cars and trucks and so Bruce made him this dump truck (getting the design from the website for Komatsu earthmovers):

Bruce made this slide/jungle climber for our children some 30 years ago and now Theo is playing with it:
