Please note that the 1897 Census used the Imperial Russian definitions of town and district.  These lists also include information about families living on estates, folwarks, zastenoks, and other administrative units.  We need to do more research to fully understand what this meant for our ancestors.

Kovno Gubernia

 Novo-Aleksandrovsk (Zarasai) District  [637 families]

Siauliai District  [200 families estimate]

Telz (Telsiai) District  [82 families]

 Vilna District (does not include city of Vilnia) [316 families]
