The Performance Doctor works from many points of view: cleaning up the actions with attention to detail, ascertaining where in the body the movement is initiated, and balancing the overall flow in use of space, dynamic changes, and timing.

Like a script doctor for film, The Performance Doctor comes into a project after it has already been created and makes suggestions as to how to move it further. If your work has need for an outside eye with years of varied experience make an appointment with The Performance Doctor.

GUS SOLOMONS JR (Choreographer) says: "Judith is a fabulous third eye, who can see what I've made, sharpen its intention, and clean up the movement. She gets inside your work and let's you see what your subjective involvement invariably overlooks."

REBECCA MOORE (Performance Artist) says: "Judith's razor-sharp eyes and mind see right into and thru the clutter and density of your ideas, helping you cut thru all of your own red-tape to get to the guts and heart of what you're trying to express. She brings all of her own language, movement, sound and directorial skills and experience into the rehearsal, working in a style of total objective clarity that will strengthen your piece and help you find focus."

MOLISSA FENLEY (Choreographer) says: "I had the Performance Doctor come into our rehearsals three weeks before our opening night. We had been in rehearsal for several months prior to that and were at the point where all the work was memorized and spaced but the next level of performance had not been reached. During the three weeks with Judith we progressed from a tighter uniformity of movement quality to spatial clarity to dynamic clarity and finally to clarity of choreographic intention voiced by each dancer in their own unique yet unified way. It was a great working experience; all the dancers and I benefited from her suggestions, her very direct way of finding words that would express exactly how we could find a deeper understanding of the work. Her contribution to the process was exceedingly important; she helped us find the true artistry inherent within the work."

SUSANNE MUELLER (Swiss choreographer) says: "Judith Ren-Lay is a great outside eye. Very quickly she sees the strong and weak points of a work. She knows when to give what kind of feed-back on many different levels: she helps you clarify the dramaturgy or the thread of the whole work and the intentions of the different sections. She gives you competent feed-back, based on her experience of many years of work, on movement quality, timing and relationships between the dancers and the dance and other elements in the piece. Besides that she knows when to push you to go to your limits and when to step back and reflect. She is able to create an atmosphere, where work can be at the same time intense and sensitive to each persons needs."
