GRACE V. BYERS

Grace Viola Byers, was born Sept. 6, 1900, and died Feb. 25, 1920. aged 19 years, 4 months and 16 days. She was the second daughter of C. H. and Lida Byers, who lived near Reidsburg. She was away from home with an uncle in Vandergrift when she learned that all her folks at home were sick with influenza. Hastening home to render what help she could, in a few days she took the same disease which soon developed into bronchial pneumonia and on Sunday morning the gentle took its flight, just a week and a day from the time she came home in the bloom of health.

Grace was a member of the Reidsburg Baptist Church, having united in 1914, where she led a consistent and happy christian life. The pastor Rev. Long, being unable to conduct the funeral service because of sickness in his home, Rev. Ransbottom rendered this service. On account of sickness in the home and in the community the funeral was private, only the family and kindred and one neighbor and his wife being present.
