Mrs. Alice E. Platt
Mrs. Alice E. Platt died at her home at Leatherwood, Dec. 21, 1932, aged 62 years, 5 months and 10 days. The cause of her death was cerebral hemorrhage.
She was a daughter of Thomas and Ester (Atherton) Divens and was born in Porter township, this county, July 12, 1870. On Aug. 22, 1888, she was married to G. A. Platt and to this union 10 children were born, four of whom preceded their mother in death. Those living are, Mrs. Amie Helper of Seneca; Mrs. May Brinker of Apollo; John of Williamsburg; Tom, Harry and Glendora at home. She is also survived by one brother, H. T. Divens, of Washington, D. C., and by five grandchildren.
Funeral services in her memory were held in the Leatherwood Baptist church on Dec. 24, and were conducted by Rev. Mr. McKinley of Distant; after which interment under the direction of S. F. Reitz was made in the nearby cemetery.
