Guy M. George

(Harriett Helper)

Our community expressed a feeling of sympathy last Tuesday morning when the word was circulated around that Guy George had passed away at 5:30 in the Brookville hospital. Mr. George was taken to the hospital one week prior to this death, and was operated on but his life could not be saved. His body was brought to his home Tuesday afternoon, and funeral services held in the Rehobeth Presbyterian church on Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, conducted by Rev. C. C. Clawson of the Limestone Baptist church. The church was filled with friends and neighbors and relatives as a tribute of respect and sorrow. The services in his honor were fitting, comforting and helpful in spirit.

Mr. George was a well-known citizen of Limestone township. He was born March 10, 1884, and died March 10, 1931, aged 47 years. He was the son of Uriah and Sarah (Finnefrock) George. He was united in marriage May 10, 1916, with Miss Ida Henry of Monroe township, and shortly afterwards settled on the old homestead where he was born, and where he resided at the settled on the old homestead where he was born, and where he resided at the time of death. He is survived by his widow and five small children, Josephine aged 11, Geraldine aged 10 years, Rayburn 9 years, Maxine 7 years, and Pauline 18 months. He is also survived by one brother and four sisters, viz., Ernest George of Minerva, Ohio; Mrs. Ida Reily if Reidsburg; Mrs. Hannah Nail of Erie, Pa.; Mrs. Sarah George of Franklin, Pa., and Mrs. Hazel Edder of near Limestone, Pa. His aged father and mother also survived him. His father is in his 84th year, and his mother in her 85th year, and were both able to attend their son’s funeral. His grandmother, Mrs. Hannah Finnefrock, of Oil City, who is in her 104th year, also survives him. She is in very frail health and confined to her room most of the time.

The removal of this father by death leaves a very sad home and this little mother and her young family have the deepest sympathy in their sad bereavement. The burial was made in Rehobeth cemetery under the direction of P. W. Haskill of Clarion.
