Funeral of Mrs. Alla Stella Johnson
Limestone.-Another sister beloved has fallen asleep in Jesus. "Blessed sleep from which no one ever wakes to weep." January 27, 1924 marked the passing of Alla Stella Johnson from the sphere of temporal things to the realm of eternal. The love and esteem entertained in the community was fully attested Wednesday, January 30, when a vast assemgblae of friends, neighbors and relatives met at the Limestone Baptist church to pay a last tender tribute of respect to her memory. The services were in charge of Rev. M. S. Cuningham. Interment was made in Greenville cemetery. After a short but busy and useful life she died as she had lived-honored, trusted and loved. She reared her own monument while she lived, in the hearts of all who knew her. Her life was complete if work well done and all done constitutes completeness. Her christian life was beautiful from the beginning to its close, and through all the vicisitudes and sorrows that she met in the way, her faith in God never waivered. But also "death loves a shining mark"-and so it came.
Alla Stella (Henry) Johnson, daughter of James and Minta Henry was born in Limestone township Apr. 26, 1900. She passed to her reward January 27, 1924 in Franklin, Pa., aged 23 years and 9 months. Three years ago she was united in marriage to Walter Johnson. One child was born to this union who died in infancy. She is survived by her husband, father and mother, four brothers and three sisters: Jennie, of Franklin; Mrs. Herman Fox, of Curllsville; Ruth, at home; Charles, of Kingsville; Harold, of Clarion township; Morrison, New Bethlehem; Paul, home. We extend our sincere sympathy to the loved ones and commend them to Him who said: "My grace is sufficient for you."-John James.
SPECIAL NOTE :
I believe that the word "ASSEMGBLAE" (in the 4th line from the top) was a typo in the original article the word should be ASSEMBLAGE.
