Floyd D. Henry, 72, of 310 Grant Street, this place, died suddenly in his auto of a heart attack at 11:00pm Monday, October 25, 1954, at Rathmel.
The deceased and his wife had attended an auction at Rathmel and were on their way home to Reynoldsville when death struck. Mrs. Henry brought the car to a stop without further injury to the vehicle or occupants.
Mr. Henry, a retired farmer and miner, had spent his entire life in the Winslow Township, Reynoldsville Borough area. He was born in the township on June 15, 1882, the son of George and Edna (Lyons) Henry. His marriage to Miss Mazie Patterson took place September 14, 1904.
He was a member of the Pocohantas, and his long engagement in farming and mining had won him a wide circle of friends who join his family in mourning his sudden passing.
Family survivors are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Eleen Hughes, of Meadville, and Mrs. Faye Hannah, of Reynoldsville RD 2; three sons, Kenneth and Harold, both of Reynoldsville and Raymond (Jim), of Sykesville. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. One son preceded him in death in 1928.
Friends will be received at the Ober Funeral Home until 2:00pm this afternoon, Thursday, October 25, when funeral services will be conducted by Rev. C. E. Depew, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Interment will take place in the Henry Cemetery at Rathmel.
